Everything You Need to Know About Vyse : Valorant Guide

Vyse, the new sentinel in Valorant, is now available to unlock. Although leaks and gameplay reveals have generated significant hype, today marks the official release for everyone to play. While unlocking the agent might take around 5-6 hours, players can also purchase the agent by spending 1000 VP. Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about Vyse.

RazorVine (C Ability) for Vyse in Valorant

The Razorvine (C ability) for Vyse in Valorant functions by placing it down and detonating it with the F key. It spawns Razorvines within a large radius, but the ability doesn’t significantly slow enemies. Opponents can sprint through it with minimal hindrance, and it generates a loud sound cue. The ability’s visibility and audibility from a distance allow enemies to destroy it easily before it activates.

Shear (Q Ability) for Vyse in Valorant

Vyse’s Shear (Q ability) creates an unbreakable barricade when an enemy crosses its line. The barricade traps teammates behind it if they aren’t with the team. The wall can be seen and fake-triggered by jump spots, which can waste the ability. Effective use requires careful placement with intent.

E Ability for Vyse in Valorant

Vyse’s E ability can be placed on almost any wall, similar to a Cypher camera. Detonating it is as simple as pressing E, which then triggers a flash. This flash can also be placed through walls using the right-click function. For instance, placing the flash through a wall from Cubby positions it to flash the site, aiding your team. This unique feature allows for creative uses, such as flashing outside of Heaven or placing it in Hell before jumping out. This ability also provides information similar to Skye’s flash, where a sound cue indicates if an enemy has been blinded, giving free intel.

Vyse’s Ultimate Ability in Valorant

Vyse’s ultimate ability has a specific range, visible on the mini-map, within which it affects enemies. When deployed, it prevents opponents from using their primary weapons, limiting them to their pistols. For instance, after being hit by the ultimate, the primary weapon becomes jammed, leaving the enemy with only their Classic or knife. This ultimate does not affect abilities like Neon’s or Jett’s ultimates, allowing them to continue using their abilities even when hit by Vyse’s ultimate. The same applies to Chamber’s Operator, where the ultimate’s effect is nullified.

Razorvine Usage and Strategies

Since Vyse’s Razorvines are straightforward, they can be utilized strategically, such as throwing them up to land in key locations like Market and the shed. Detonating them prevents enemies in Market from sprinting out or retreating through stairs, making this a strong tactic for attacking. Without a tripwire, using the wall to hold the flank becomes essential, especially for a Solo Sentinel on the T-side. Interestingly, Razorvines can replicate Brimstone’s Molly lineups, offering similar utility. For example, using a Brimstone Molly lineup, Razorvines can land in the exact same spot, providing consistent results.

Based on initial gameplay, Vyse appears to be an interesting option as a sentinel. Players are currently experimenting with her flash positioning, and in the coming weeks, more outplays will likely emerge.
