Everything You Need to Know About Fortnite Ice Spice Update! – Patch Notes

The Fortnite Ice Spice update introduced exciting new features, including Ice Spice and her POI. Released on Wednesday, this update brought major gameplay changes on Thursday, confusing some players. The Ice Spice POI resembles the Shark POI from Chapter 2, Season 2, and, like Sky in that season, Ice Spice now drops a Mythic Scar and a Mythic Grappler. Once defeated, Ice Spice becomes hireable, offering players Chili Chug Splashes for healing and speed boosts.

Chili Chug Splash and Its Advantages

Chili Chug Splashes heal for 20 health points, similar to regular Chug Splashes, but also give a temporary speed boost. This bonus enhances gameplay by adding mobility, though it can be situational based on the map’s positioning.

Ice Spice’s Mythic Scar

Ice Spice’s Scar delivers one additional damage point and increased fire rate compared to a regular Scar, significantly improving its time-to-kill rate. The boosted fire rate also enhances its viability as a spray weapon, making it a favorite among the season’s mythic items.

Fortnite Ice Spice’s Grappler – Icy Feet Effect

Ice Spice’s Grappler functions like a regular Grappler but includes the Icy Feet effect, familiar to players from Chapter 5’s Winterfest. While useful for speed and mobility, the effect may hinder precise movement, especially in close combat on rooftops or small areas. As a workaround, players often carry both the Icy Grappler and a standard Grappler for flexible use.

The Mythic Scar should grant the Pepper effect, which boosts movement speed. However, players report that, despite seeing the Pepper animation, no noticeable speed increase occurs, suggesting a potential bug with this feature.

Fortnite Ice Spice POI Vault and Burst Rifle Model Change

Similar to other bosses, Ice Spice’s POI includes a vault accessible via her key card. Additionally, the update returns the Burst Rifle to its original AUG model for purple and gold versions, a change that only affects visuals, not stats. The previous model, FAMAS, had an audio bug, which the AUG model fixes.

Other Map Changes and Fixes

Pleasant Park’s underground area now features an open chopper spawn location, offering quick access to the Ice Spice POI. However, this setup also leaves players more exposed to enemies. Additionally, the flying car glitch, which allowed players to fly using car hydraulics, was patched.

Reload Map Rotation

With this update, Fortnite now rotates the Reload map every 30 minutes between the original Reload map and a desert version. While the loot pool remains constant, this change offers variety to the gameplay experience. In addition to the Reload map rotation, Fortnite’s latest Ice Spice update introduced several minor tweaks. Among these is a fix to the audio bug with the purple and gold burst rifles, making them more immersive for players. The update also added a Scoped AR model change, refreshing its look without altering stats.

Players exploring Pleasant Park will notice the new open access to its underground area, complete with added mobility features. Fortnite’s frequent updates bring a dynamic experience, keeping players engaged with fresh content, fixed bugs, and consistent performance improvements for smoother gameplay.
