Epic Rolls Out the Biggest Fortnite Update Since “Reload Mode”

Fortnite has rolled out its biggest update for the month of July, packed with new items. From the addition of the Cyber Truck to new Marvel bundles in the store, this update is the biggest since the reload mode launched. Epic Games has also updated other modes, including the Lego Fortnite mode, Rocket Racing, and the weapon pool for the reload mode. Keep reading this post to learn everything new in the latest Fortnite update.

Free Cyber Truck

The Cyber Truck is the most surprising piece of this update. Although it was known that the Cyber Truck was coming, its free availability was unexpected. Previously, some car prices led to expectations of paying around 3,000 to 4,000 V-Bucks. However, by completing nine summer road trip quests, players can unlock the Cyber Truck. This decision likely reflects Epic Games’ response to the community’s reaction.

Fortnite Deadpool and Wolverine Bundle

A new Deadpool and Wolverine bundle is coming to the item shop, with new versions of these skins. These skins were expected in the next season due to promotions between Fortnite and the new Deadpool and Wolverine movie. Instead, they will be available early in the item shop. Although similar to previous battle pass skins, these have been revamped for a separate item shop release.

New Skins and Collaborations

Several new skins and collaborations have been added:

  • Adidas Collab: This drop includes a ton of customization options. The main skins offer different headpieces, primary colors, secondary colors on the mask, and more.
  • August 2024 Crew Pack: This includes different legacy styles that can be unlocked by staying subscribed for months.
  • Galaxy Bundle: This bundle looks great and might have storyline significance related to the last reality.
  • New Level-Up Pack: This pack features the Mas version of the dummy skin.
  • Potential Item Shop Release Dates: Stranger Things (July 29th-31st), Avatar (July 30th-August 1st), Futurama (July 31st-August 2nd), My Hero Academia (August 1st-3rd), Lethal Company (August 2nd-4th), and Juju Kaisen (August 5th-7th).

Fall Guys Collaboration

The Fall Guys collaboration is a major part of this update. New skins transformed into Bean mode include Midas, Peely, Meow, Cube Queen, and many more. A new mini-game within Battle Royale, featuring popular Fall Guys prefabs and mini-games, will be available. Players can now create Fall Guys Islands in Fortnite using UFN and Fortnite Creative.

Rocket Racing Update

Fortnite has adjusted the Rocket Racing mode by introducing a casual, non-ranked playlist. Previously, players had to individually select each map, leading to long queue times. This change should improve the player experience.

Fortnite Lego Figures

Epic Games has added about 50 new Lego figures, catching up with the skins available in normal Fortnite.

Reload Mode Updates

Reload mode remains popular, and updates are planned to keep it engaging. Upcoming weapon updates include the auto shotgun, two-shot shotgun, prime shotgun, combat pistol, suppressed pistol, suppressed SMG, combat SMG, burst AR, red-eye AR, flapjack rifle, suppressed AR, lever action rifle, and suppressed sniper rifle. Epic has almost confirmed that the reload mode will stick around. Whether the company plans to keep it in the OG map is something we will only learn in future updates. For now, Epic appears to be in full throttle mode regarding delivering new Fortnite content.
