Patch 1.02.2 for Elden Ring Nightreign is out, and it changes quite a lot. Characters got buffs and nerfs, bosses were adjusted, and a handful of quality-of-life fixes make the game easier to deal with. Here’s a rundown of what matters.
Wylder and Guardian
The Wylder now gets more Poise while using Claw Shot, so he won’t get knocked out of it as easily. It also does more Stamina damage to shields, making guard breaks more common. On the downside, the fire follow-up attack now drains Stamina, which hurts its usefulness. His ultimate fire follow-up was buffed a little, but it’s only a small boost.
The Guardian got a bunch of small upgrades. Steel Guard now blocks attacks from a much wider angle, almost to the side. His halberd guard counter deals slightly more damage, and Wings of Salvation feels a bit bigger. None of this changes his role, but blocking is now more reliable.
Duchess and Raider
The Duchess does a little more damage with Daggers now, around 10–15% more on one-handed combos. Her Finale Ultimate Art lasts longer too. On the other hand, her uncharged heavy attack was nerfed, so spamming it won’t be as good.
The Raider got a boost to stagger power with Greataxes and Great Hammers. His Retaliation skill also has more range, though it’s hard to notice in practice. Jump attacks with smaller weapons stagger more now, while big weapon jump attacks stagger less.
Recluse, Revenant, and Executor
The Recluse came out on top in this patch. Magic Cocktail is faster and hits much harder, with testing showing around 40% more damage. Her relic that raises Max HP after using an ultimate also got stronger, and the extra health sticks around until you actually lose it.
The Revenant got a nice quality-of-life change: summoned spirits are now see-through, and you can move through Helen and Frederick instead of getting blocked.
The Executor finally sees his Cursed Sword deal damage on par with purple-tier katanas. The weapon skill damage went up by about 40%, making it worth using when paired with the relic. It still doesn’t inflict status effects though, which keeps it behind bleed or frost setups.

Boss and System Changes
Everdark bosses were tuned to be less frustrating. Equilibrious Beast summons can now be dispelled with Law of Regression, and the buffs they drop are stronger. Resummons no longer grant extra defense, and they’re weaker to death blight. Targeting is also better, so fights feel less unfair. Darkdrift Knight makes life harder for Guardians by hitting through blocks more often.
Other enemies saw fixes too. The Red Wolf of the King Consort now staggers when hit by strong attacks or Ultimates. Marionette Soldiers no longer whiff weirdly. Limveld exploration is riskier since Night’s Tide damage ramps up after the second night boss, and Sentient Pest spawns are more predictable.
On the system side, disconnect penalties in multiplayer are clearer: quitting or losing connection locks you out until you rejoin, but penalties are lifted if you return. Relics like continuous HP recovery and medicinal boluses also heal more than before.
