EA Confirms FC 25 Team of the Season: Promo Starts Friday

EA Sports has officially revealed the FC 25 Team of the Season (TOTS). Alongside the new card design, dates for the promo and several leaks have now set the stage for what could be the biggest Ultimate Team event of the cycle. The first batch of TOTS-related content arrives this Friday, kicking off the warm-up period before full promo releases begin.

While TOTS takes center stage, some attention still remains on ongoing Immortal content. Trade-in Tuesdays may bring a guaranteed Immortals pack or player pick, continuing a pattern seen over the last few weeks. Market shifts, SBC strategy, and pack planning will all play a massive role during this transition.

FC 25 Team of the Season (TOTS) Promo Starts Friday

On Monday, EA changed its branding across social media to the official TOTS theme. They also posted the new card design, which opts for a cleaner, less cluttered look than previous iterations. Compared to last year’s FC 24 card style, the new design has a more refined aesthetic that players have welcomed.

Leaks confirm that this Friday marks the beginning of the TOTS warm-up phase. Expect classic features like daily SBCs, flashback and showdown items, re-released cards, and upgrade packs. The return of the official TOTS website also allows users to track the promo schedule and vote for select leagues, just like in past years. Historically, leagues like the Bundesliga and La Liga have offered voting phases, and similar processes are likely this year.

SBCs, Player Picks, and Evolution Leaks Impacting Preparation

Content from Monday included the 97-rated Baressi icon SBC. With three PlayStyle+ attributes and significant boosts to pace and defending, the card is one of the most usable Baressis ever released. While its 562k price tag makes it a steep investment, many players may opt to complete only the loan version, especially with TOTS just around the corner.

The Eredivisie FC Pro SBC also dropped, offering cards like Haller, Van den Boomen, and Martins Indi. These cards upgrade based on real-world performances at the FC Pro event. As with the earlier Premier League batch, users can select two of four players from 85-86 rated squads. These cards offer stat boosts (not PlayStyle+) if their respective pro wins a match or finishes in the top four.

More importantly, the new 81+ one-of-four player pick is generating excitement. With the same requirements as last week’s 80+ version, this SBC consistently returns walkouts and informs—ideal for fodder collection. For players who want daily value while saving higher-rated packs, this player pick is a must-craft item.

Market Strategy and Fodder Investments for TOTS

Although major panic hasn’t set in yet, some minor dips have started to show. For instance, Florian Wirtz dropped slightly from 1.1 million to 1.05 million coins. However, widespread price crashes haven’t begun. The real impact may start once hype around TOTS spreads more widely across the player base.

To capitalize on the market, investing in 85 to 88-rated fodder makes sense. These cards currently sit at minimum price but often spike in value once demand increases during high-volume SBC releases. Inform cards, especially those rated 87 to 89, could also be affected by the “Best of Team of the Week” re-release, which may include stars like Mbappé or Vini Jr. While that supply can lower prices temporarily, demand for evolutions and crafting keeps many of these cards inflated.

Pack-saving is now essential. Players are holding all packs rated 84+ while continuing to open smaller packs (like 81+ player picks) to cycle fodder. This strategy allows for daily menu crafting while stockpiling major packs for TOTS itself.

Leaks also suggest that retro card designs—such as FIFA 20’s Team of the Season visuals—will return as part of paid or season pass evolutions. These will bring new PlayStyle+ options like Bruiser, Pinged Pass, and Tiki Taka into the pool.

Have your say!
