Dying Light The Beast Patch 1.3 Makes Human Enemies Surrender

Patch 1.3 is live for Dying Light: The Beast, and this one actually brings meaningful gameplay shifts instead of a tiny tune-up. Instead of listing every minor line, let’s stick to the big changes that matter most in the world of parkour, firearms, and infected chaos.

Human enemies can now surrender when you point a gun at them, adding a fun new layer to encounters. But there are rules: it only works on melee-armed enemies like bandits or troops loyal to key factions. If they already carry a gun, they won’t think twice — they’ll fire back. And if something interrupts the surrender, like an infected jumping in or you performing another action, they snap right back into combat mode. It’s a smart immersion boost and encourages more tactical play.

New Executions & Firearm Challenge

The update adds nine new weapon execution animations, bringing more brutal flair to takedowns. A full visual showcase of these will hit soon, since certain graphic animations tend to get flagged on video platforms.

We also have the week three community challenge, focused entirely on firearms. Any hit counts — enemy type doesn’t matter — as long as you fire an actual bullet-based weapon. No bows, no crossbows, no flamethrowers.

Community milestone rewards include:

  • A Marksman-themed car skin

  • A new marksman rifle reward (with a blueprint expected, meaning it can be upgraded to legendary)

For players tired of carrying a low-tier firearm while everything else shines gold, this is major.

And don’t forget: once you claim event weapons, move them to inventory before dismantling so you secure the blueprint. You only get one per save.

PUBG Collab + Gear Rewards

The Dying Light: The Beast x PUBG Mobile collaboration lands tomorrow. It brings a small questline centered around chasing air-drops, racing for loot before other survivors can grab it.

Rewards include:

  • A themed car skin

  • New outfit pieces

  • A frying pan melee weapon

  • Additional bonus gear including a bat-style melee weapon

The outfit grants:

  • Bonus XP

  • Higher headshot damage

  • Increased firearm base damage

This pairs nicely with the community firearm challenge live right now. You can already sign up for the event at the Dying Light Outpost to be ready the moment things go live.

Better Loot, Crafting Ease, and Hidden Additions

Patch 1.3 also improves performance, stability, and crash prevention. Graphical issues got cleaned up, and crafting flow got smoother thanks to key resource adjustments:

  • Increased oxidizer loot, removing a major blueprint-upgrade bottleneck

  • Reduced wiring cost for weapon crafting

  • Significantly expanded vendor inventory in late-game

  • Higher chances for legendary-tier weapons to appear at shops

One small but welcome discovery: the Bruiser Boots now spawn in the Exiles-area lodging spot near the bed. Completionists hunting full gear sets finally have the missing piece.

Patch 1.3 delivers practical upgrades — less grind, more choice in encounters, smoother play, and events that give genuine reasons to log in. Not game-changing, but confidently forward.
