Diablo IV War Plans: The Best Route for Farming Ancestral Gear

Diablo 4 War Plans | Best Command Table route for Lord of Hatred if you are stuck between The Pit, Nightmare Dungeons, Lair Bosses, and Helltide while chasing Ancestral gear on Torment

Diablo 4 players are finally cracking the code on War Plans. Blizzard added the Command Table in Temis after the Lord of Hatred campaign, letting you link different activities together for massive loot bonuses. Many players just pick random events, follow the teleports, and hope for the best. That is a massive waste of your playtime.

How to stack Command Table rewards for infinite Ancestral gear in Diablo 4

If you want to deck out your character in 800 item power gear with Greater Affixes, you need a very specific route. Randomly throwing Lair Bosses and standard dungeons together will just slow down your progression and burn through your resources. You need to focus on targeted drops.

Diablo 4: Optimized War Plan Chain

Step Activity Primary Focus Key Benefit
1: Opener Helltide Whisper Objectives Double-Dip: Finish Whispers while filling the first War Plan node.
2: Bridge The Pit / NMD Clear Speed Resource Save: Generates a free Sigil/Runeshard for the run.
3: Finisher Infernal Hordes 200 Aether Chest Guaranteed: Ancestral gear + 2 Scrolls of Restoration.
The Payout War Chest Temis Reward Boss Mats: Top off your summoning mats for Uber Bosses.

We tested the best ways to stack activity rewards. By combining specific mechanics, you can manipulate the system to drop exactly what you need. Here is the exact chain you need to force Ancestral drops and level up your Command Table fast.

Why random War Plans ruin your progression

When you use the Command Table, you can link things like Helltides, The Undercity, and The Pit into one continuous run. The game gives you an instant teleport between them. You also get a War Chest at the end to top off your rewards. The trap is that not all activities reward you equally.

If you do not plan your route, you miss out on free Whisper overlap. Blizzard designed the system so Whispers can double up with your selected War Plans. You want to pick activities that advance both trackers at the exact same time. Doing this means you get double the loot for the exact same time investment.

Picking the wrong sequence also means you miss out on free entry materials. Good chains generate their own keys. Bad chains force you to farm materials before you can even start your run.

The exact activity chain you need to run

The safest and most profitable route takes about thirty minutes once you learn the rhythm. Set your game to Torment difficulty so Ancestral gear can actually drop. Then build your plan strictly in this order.

Start your chain with a Helltide. This is your opener because it carries your Whisper progress perfectly. You hit your Whisper quota while clearing the first leg of your plan. Do not worry about farming hundreds of Aberrant Cinders here. Just focus on the Whisper objectives, clear the node, and take the portal to your next step.

Put a Nightmare Dungeon or The Pit in the middle of your chain. The game generates a Sigil for you if you are missing one. This middle step bridges your run and builds up your activity points without forcing you to spend your own Sigil Powder or Runeshards. You get free monster density, guaranteed glyph experience, and a big boost to your final War Chest rating.

Forcing the Ancestral drop in Infernal Hordes

Finish your chain with Infernal Hordes. This is the whole reason the route works. When you finish the Hordes, you face a room full of chests. Ignore the material chests and spend 200 Aether strictly on the equipment chest.

That specific 200 Aether chest guarantees Ancestral gear and two Scrolls of Restoration. Because you are playing on Torment, those drops have a very high chance of hitting the 800 item power cap with at least one Greater Affix.

By the time you finish this third step, you have double dipped on Whispers, grabbed a free Sigil run, and secured guaranteed top tier loot. After that, you just teleport back to Temis, open your War Chest for bonus boss summoning materials, and do it all again.

Who needs to run this route tonight

If you main a heavily gear dependent class, you need to stop doing random standalone Pit runs. Spiritborn players looking for perfectly rolled weapons will cut their farming time in half with this method. The same goes for Rogue players hunting for maximum critical strike damage affixes.

Take ten seconds at the Command Table to set up this exact Helltide to Pit to Infernal Hordes chain. You will bypass the bad RNG, stack your rewards, and see more Ancestral drops tonight than you did all week.
