Season 14 Is Not a Borrowed Power Season
Before anything else, Season 14 is not a borrowed power season. There are no temporary mechanics attached to your character. Instead, the season theme introduces Pandemonium Ruptures, which are arcane rifts that appear in Helltides, open-world zones, and Nightmare Dungeons.
Three types of Ruptures exist:
-
Ruptures (Normal): Small rifts that spawn across the overworld, concentrated in Helltides.
-
Surging Ruptures: Medium rifts that appear in place of local events inside a Helltide. Completing them with Mastery can spawn a Realmwalker.
-
Colossal Ruptures: Large rifts in the Fields of Desecration. Completing one guarantees a Realmwalker spawn.
Defeating the Realmwalker opens a portal into the Deathtoll Chamber, a one-room mini-dungeon with a special Rupture activity and bonus loot. This is also the best source for Betrayer’s Husks, which are the key item you need to unlock the seasonal Lair Boss rewards.
A new monster family called The Risen also appears inside Ruptures and the Deathtoll Chamber. Kill the Gravehounds they spawn quickly, as enemies can absorb the dropped orbs before you do.
There Is a New Lair Boss
A brand new seasonal Lair Boss arrives in Season 14: the Corrupted Reaper, found at the Pandemonium Threshold entrance in Zarbinzet. It requires Betrayer’s Husks to unlock the rewards cache.
Blizzard confirmed this boss gives the highest direct drop chance for both Mythic Uniques and Mythic Unique upgrade currency of any activity in the game. After the season ends, it will become a permanent addition, similar to how the Butcher was introduced in an earlier season.
Mythic Uniques 3.0: Every Unique Can Now Be Mythic
This is the biggest system change in Season 14. Mythic is no longer a separate item rarity. Instead, it is a modifiable Item Quality that can be applied to any Unique in the game.
Here is what you need to know:
-
Any Unique can drop as a Mythic Unique or be upgraded using the Horadric Cube.
-
Mythic Uniques have their Unique Powers increased by 30% across the board.
-
You can craft one Mythic Unique using Pandemonium Fragments, the new seasonal currency. Fragments drop from the seasonal reputation board, Resplendent Caches, and the Corrupted Reaper boss.
-
A class-specific Mythic Unique is earnable through the Season Rank progression.
-
On both Seasonal and Eternal realms, Ancestral Unique drops have a very rare chance to come out as Mythic.
One important restriction: You can only equip one crafted Mythic at a time. If you find additional Mythics as natural drops, you can equip multiples alongside your one crafted piece.
Uniques Can Now Be Rerolled With the Horadric Cube
This is a permanent quality-of-life change with significant impact on endgame itemization. In Season 14, Unique items can have their affixes modified using Focused Reroll and Chaotic Reroll cube recipes.
Key confirmed details straight from the patch notes:
-
These recipes cost 1 Attuned Primordial Dust when applied to Unique or new Mythic items.
-
Unique Charms and Non-Ancestral Uniques can now also use the Unique Power Reroll.
-
All Resistance can now be targeted by Add/Remove Affix and Chaotic/Focus Reroll recipes when using a Chromatic Tuning Prism.
Attuned Primordial Dust is rare. Spending it carelessly will slow your progression. But for the first time, rolls on jewelry and other hard-to-fix Uniques are no longer permanent bad luck.
The Mythic Unique Stat Overhaul
The old Mythic Uniques had long fixed stat lists. In Season 14, each only guarantees one specific affix, with the rest being variable. Here is every confirmed change from the official patch notes:
Tibault’s Will in particular is the biggest individual Mythic nerf in the patch. It drops from an 80% damage buff that was auto-included in nearly every build to a 15% buff. Its movement speed bonus may still justify a slot on specific builds.
Mythic Seals: Seal of the Severed Finger Is Gone
The Seal of the Severed Finger has been removed from the game entirely. Any existing copies will auto-convert into a Seal of the Golden Epiphany.
The Seal of the Golden Epiphany has been updated to allow you to equip up to 3 Unique Charms. The Seal of the Diamond Mind stays as-is, giving the 5-piece plus 3-piece set combination. With only two Mythic Seals in the game now, targeting the one you want becomes slightly more realistic.
Solo Self Found Is Coming in Season 14
SSF mode is officially confirmed for Season 14. It is a permanent character state tied to Seasonal characters.
Rules for SSF characters:
-
Must be Seasonal. Can also be Normal or Hardcore.
-
Cannot join parties or trade with other players.
-
Share stash, currency, Paragon, and more only with other SSF characters on the same account.
-
Free Trial, Couch Co-Op, and Dark Citadel are unavailable.
-
SSF status is permanent for the season and cannot be reversed mid-season. At season end, SSF characters revert to normal Eternal characters with full grouping and trading restored.
SSF players get their own exclusive Tower Leaderboards with dedicated Solo Self Found and Hardcore Solo Self Found filters.
Tower and Leaderboard Rewards (Beta Is Over)
The Tower and Leaderboards are officially out of Beta in Season 14. New cosmetic rewards are tied to weekly leaderboard performance:
Weekly rewards are granted for the following ranks:
-
Played the Tower this week
-
Reached Tower Tier 100 or higher
-
Top 1,000 / Top 500 / Top 100 / Top 10 / Top 1 on any leaderboard
Each week you receive a Halo cosmetic, a Prestige Title, and a Gear Cache based on your highest rank. Higher ranks yield more items and better chances at Uniques.
Halos and titles last through the season, then reset. At the start of the next season, you receive a permanent Emblem reflecting your highest rank from the previous season’s weekly leaderboards.
War Plans Get Party Sync
War Plans now fully support party play. When in a party inside Temis, a New Plan For Party option appears. It costs 2 Marks of El’Druin and, if all party members accept, resets the initiating player’s board and pushes that exact board to all members.
Other War Plans changes:
-
Activity XP scaling increased for Torment VIII and higher.
-
Infernal Hordes XP rewards increased.
-
Helltide quests now require spending a flat Cinder amount instead of opening chests.
-
New nodes and quests added for Long Helltide and Nightmare Escalations.
Resource Cap Increases
Class Changes: Who Wins and Who Gets Hit
Barbarian
The Limitless Rage aspect has been completely reworked. The old version gave up to 1.5% damage per Fury point generated with no meaningful cap. The new version gives 0.15 to 0.20% per Fury point, capped at 350 Fury, which means a maximum of 70% fully stacked.
Fury gained from taking damage is also now capped at 0.5 Fury per 1% of Maximum Life and no longer benefits from resource generation bonuses. This kills the passive Fury loop that was enabling overtuned damage.
On the upside:
-
Wrath of the Berserker now also increases all damage by 30% for its duration.
-
Chainscourged Mail damage bonus increased from 60-80% to 80-100%.
-
Battle Trance reworked so Frenzy gains the Barrage Variant for free and the damage bonus goes up to 75-100% at maximum stacks.
-
The Dominate Glyph nerf (shared with Necromancer) reduces per-stack damage from 23.6% to 1.8% at Glyph Level 150. This hits every Barbarian Overpower build very hard.
Sorcerer
Unstable Currents now has diminishing returns on skill rank scaling for the base version and all variants. The Boundless Variant only increases Crackling Energy damage and no longer grants a stack at maximum Crackling Energy.
Overwhelming Currents, the aspect that let Shock builds stack Shock damage indefinitely via Critical Strikes, is now rate-limited so stacks cannot accumulate without restriction.
Other Sorcerer changes:
-
Firebolt Firefly Variant explosion damage up from 9% to 25%.
-
Staff of Endless Rage Fireball damage up from 80-120% to 140-180%.
-
Ophidian Iris Hydra damage up from 100-125% to 110-150%.
-
Starfall Coronet Meteor damage up from 50-70% to 80-100%.
-
Chain Lightning’s Cost Reduction side upgrade is reworked into Ramping Damage, which stacks 5% increased damage per second up to 30%, resetting when you use another skill.
Druid
Resolve stacking is being tightened. Aspect of Glynn’s Anvil now caps Damage Reduction at 40%, ending near-immortal Druid tanking.
What went up:
-
Greatstaff of the Crone up from 30-40% to 60-80%.
-
Hunter’s Zenith up from 40-60% to 75-90%.
-
Waxing Gibbous up from 20-25% to 45-60%, with chance for additional attacks up from 25% to 33%.
-
The Basilisk now adds 60-90% increased damage against Petrified enemies.
-
Storm Shepherd’s Talisman Set 5-piece damage for double/triple cast jumped from 100%/300% to 500%.
Shepherd’s Aspect (Companions) was nerfed from 5-13% to 2-3% damage bonus, which hits Companion builds significantly.
Necromancer
The Dominate Glyph nerf affects Necromancers as much as Barbarians, dropping from 23.6% to 1.8% per stack at Glyph Level 150. Every Overpower Necromancer build loses a huge multiplier.
Bright spots:
-
Corpse Explosion Bloody Mess Variant up from 50% to 75%.
-
Corpse Explosion Miasma Variant up from 145% to 210%.
-
Mace of King Leoric Golem bonus up from 70-80% to 100-120%.
-
Ebonpiercer now deals double damage with Blight’s Piercing Darkness Variant.
-
The Wither Legendary Node and Darkness Glyph now also trigger from Cold damage.
-
Red Blessing Maximum Overpower bonus was reduced from 4 to 2.
Rogue
Rogues come out of this patch in a strong position overall.
-
Dance of Knives damage down from 65% to 52%.
-
Legacy of the Sightless 5-Piece down from 320% to 250%.
-
Flurry up from 140% to 196%.
-
Twisting Blades up from 30%/70% to 42%/98%.
-
Way of the Blurring Blade 5-Piece up from 150% to 200%.
-
Spellbound Steel Talisman Set received multiple bug fixes that were causing incorrect triggering behavior. Multi-imbument setups may now actually work as intended.
Paladin
Paladins received a strong round of buffs with only minor defensivetweaks:
-
Shield Charge base damage doubled from 90% to 180%, cooldown dropped from 10 to 8 seconds.
-
Heaven’s Fury cooldown cut from 30 to 15 seconds.
-
Zenith initial hit up from 450% to 550%, final hit up from 400% to 500%.
-
Supplication damage doubled from 60-80% to 120-160%.
-
Cathan’s Iron Conviction 3-Piece now also grants 30% Damage Reduction.
-
Blessed Shield Shield of Retribution Variant Thorns reduced from 100% to 70%.
-
Seize Them Variant for Clash is now capped at 16 stacks of Resolve.
Spiritborn
The infinite mobility loop is gone. Rushing Claw’s Charge Refund Upgrade has been reworked so it no longer refills 4 Charges by consuming Ferocity stacks. It now simply grants 1 Charge. The Evasive Swipe Variant no longer counts as an Evade.
Other changes:
-
Kwatli’s Grace 5-Piece movement speed reduced from 50% to 35%.
-
Aspect of Pestilence Pestilent Swarm damage down from 70-100% to 30-60%.
-
Aspect of Forest Power barrier amount up from 20% to 30% of Maximum Life.
-
Sepazontec damage up from 100-120% to 140-180%.
Warlock
The Ceh Rune (Spirit Wolves) no longer makes enemies Vulnerable. Maximum wolves are also reduced from 10 to 6. For any build that relied on the wolves as a passive Vulnerable application, an alternative source is now needed.
Apocalypse Survivor Upgrade damage bonus dropped from 100% to 10%.
What improved:
-
Terror Swarm Nightmare Variant up from 75% to 200%.
-
Ae’grom’s Schism up from 30-50% to 120-150%.
-
Wall of Agony Dominance cost reduced from 20 to 16, Encircle Variant cooldown down from 30 to 20 seconds.
-
Command Valloch duration up from 6 to 10 seconds.
Two-Handed Weapon Gem Strength Fix
The official patch notes confirm a bug fix: the Gem Strength Bonus affix was scaling incorrectly on two-handed weapons and granting more power than intended. This has been corrected.
Mephisto Chest Is Now Per-Player
The Mephisto Hoard Chest no longer grants rewards to all party members at once. It now requires individual interaction, meaning players can no longer passively collect loot from a carry run without actively opening the chest themselves.

DLSS 5X and 6X support added for Nvidia GPUs. XESS 3 support added for Intel GPUs.
