Bungie has confirmed that two armor set bonuses introduced with Destiny 2: Monument of Triumph are being disabled across all Crucible playlists. The decision comes after the developer identified major balance issues caused by the perks in PvP, where they enabled unusually powerful health regeneration and Super energy generation.
The affected set bonuses will continue to function in PvE activities but will no longer be active in any PvP mode.
Armor Sets Affected
The following four-piece set bonuses are being disabled in Crucible:
| Armor Set | Disabled Bonus |
|---|---|
| Grasp of Avarice Dungeon | Overflowing Coffers |
| Duality Dungeon | Bittersweet |
In a statement shared on the official Destiny 2 Team account, Bungie said the perks had created unhealthy gameplay in Crucible and required immediate action.
Why Bungie Disabled the Perks
According to Bungie, the affected bonuses were significantly stronger than intended in PvP.
Overflowing Coffers
The Grasp of Avarice four-piece bonus granted additional ability energy from elemental pickups. It also converted stacks of Untold Greed into Orbs of Power whenever the player’s shields broke.
Players discovered that this interaction could generate large numbers of Orbs of Power in coordinated teams, allowing Guardians to recharge Supers at an extremely fast rate.
Bittersweet
The Duality four-piece bonus restored health based on accumulated Built Bitter stacks whenever a weapon was stowed.
In Crucible, players could build these stacks quickly and repeatedly trigger substantial healing during engagements, making them much harder to eliminate.
PvE Remains Unchanged
The change only affects PvP activities.
Both armor sets will continue to function normally in PvE content, including strikes, dungeons, raids, and patrol activities.
No Plans for a Future Rework
While Bungie has often disabled overpowered items temporarily before rebalancing them in later patches, the studio did not announce any plans to rework these two armor bonuses.
Instead, the developer stated that disabling the perks in Crucible was the necessary solution to preserve PvP balance.
For players who regularly use either dungeon set, the armor remains fully usable in PvE, but the four-piece bonuses will no longer provide any benefit when entering Destiny 2’s competitive modes.
