The crossover event was first teased during the 10th anniversary celebration of Five Nights at Freddy’s. And the developers have crafted the crossover in a careful way to include the horror atmosphere of both franchises. Fans got a tease of this crossover in summer 2024 and an official announcement during the 2025 summer event. Now that the developers have taken their time to develop the crossover, Behaviour Interactive can build on the FNAF horror aspects and incorporate them into Dead by Daylight to create a new gameplay experience for fans.
Key Features of the Collaboration

Behaviour Interactive is bringing a frightfully new chapter to Dead by Daylight with the spring-locked Springtrap as the new Killer. In Dead by Daylight, Springtrap is named The Animatronic. He uses a giant pizza knife and a fire axe, with the axe being a unique power that allows him to reveal Survivors. It also initiates a jump scare if he is not careful; a basic Five Nights build-up.
This will be the first time that Springtrap has ever been playable. All of these give the fans a whole new horror mechanics, something Dead by Daylight fans have yet to experience.
Along with Springtrap’s terrifying presence, they have created a new map that is carefully conceived to feel claustrophobic and creepy. The map, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, maintains DBD’s open gameplay style but also contrasts with the original confined and paranoia-inducing layout. It includes tables, counters, and a central kitchen that creates the ideal chase loops.
To further connect players to this new gameplay experience, Behaviour is offering a new queue dedicated to the FNAF map. This will allow players to go directly into this creepy live environment, filled with Easter eggs from the original series.
Additional Content and Features

Behaviour Interactive has announced some cool new content for the Dead by Daylight & Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover. Among them is a skin called Yellow Rabbit for Springtrap. The legendary outfit is based on Springtrap’s Yellow Rabbit form in the movie adaptation of FNAF. It’s unique because it also captures the likeness and voice of Matthew Lillard, who played the iconic character on screen.
