Daredevil’s Abilities and Lore Teased in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 may have just leaked the future. Through new gallery cards and dialogue, two major heroes—Daredevil and Angela—are now all but confirmed for Season 4. A deep dive into the lore reveals hidden clues, shadowy figures, and subtle sensory cues pointing toward their arrival.

Season 3.5 Hints Daredevil is D Jang

As part of the Queen’s Codex event, players can unlock a gallery card titled Nowhere to Run. It depicts a figure known as D Jang standing over a caged Hela in the Eighth City, a location tied to K’un-Lun in the lore. The lore introduces D Jang as a repentant leader who seeks redemption for past sins—an arc that eerily mirrors Matt Murdock’s own journey.

More than that, the card reveals several telltale Daredevil traits. D Jang mentions hearing Hela’s heart beating with rage and sensing her icy glare despite not seeing her—classic signs of Daredevil’s heightened senses. Even the lore description references devils and punishment, while the visual design of the masked figure includes horns and a side-facing posture, another nod to Daredevil’s blindness.

Reminder that in Marvel Rivals, Loki and Hela are siblings NOT Father and Daughter.

The gallery story states that the Eighth City was once a prison and is now a sanctuary for outcasts. D Jang recounts Hela’s plea for asylum after fleeing Null, the dark god she once allied with. She’s weakened and fearful, but D Jang refuses to let her go, warning that her kin may soon arrive to judge her.

Angela: Hela’s Sister and Season 4’s Vanguard (Marvel Rivals Season 4)

That final statement sets the stage for Angela, another hero teased via voice lines and lore. Angela is Odin’s daughter and Hela’s sister, which positions her perfectly to confront Hela and tie into the Eighth City’s ongoing plot.

Her motivations are already linked to the Season 3.5 story. In Iron Fist’s lore, it’s revealed that Lousa, Angela’s baby sister, is currently under the care of the Prince of Orphans in the Eighth City. With chaos spreading across the Seven Capital Cities of Heaven, including K’un-Lun, Angela’s return makes narrative sense.

Leaked voice lines show that Angela already plays a role in the game’s ecosystem. Lines such as “Avenging angels always fall in the end” and “You didn’t bring Thor, did you?” reveal her complex family ties. Although developers haven’t confirmed her exact role, many expect her to wield the Asgardian Eye—a weapon that transforms into multiple bladed forms. This implies a likely Vanguard classification.

Hero Roles and Gameplay Potential

Both heroes fit well into Marvel Rivals’ current meta. Leaks describe Daredevil as having an ability called Spherical Clipping, which likely uses his heightened senses for detection or teleportation. His mobile playstyle—with rooftop leaps and wall traversal—positions him as a likely Duelist, although players may feel fatigued after seeing two Duelists in a row.

Angela, on the other hand, may offer the tankier frontline option Season 4 needs. With her weapon versatility and mythological roots, she provides contrast to the street-level grit of Daredevil. Together, they balance narrative depth and gameplay synergy.

K’un-Lun Map Will Be the Centerpiece (Marvel Rivals Season 4)

All signs point to K’un-Lun as the focal map in Season 4. This ancient city, known for its martial arts history and dimensional ties, plays a major role in the lore buildup. Iron Fist, the Eighth City, and characters like Daredevil and Angela all intersect here.

As mentioned in the gallery lore, Hela’s journey began with her pursuit of ancient power, and Daredevil now guards the gates of her prison. Meanwhile, Angela arrives with her own purpose—finding her sister and delivering judgment.

The storylines for both characters align with the broader cosmic-mystical tone of Marvel Rivals’ evolving narrative. Their presence also allows the game to pivot into new enemy types and boss events involving Null or remnants of his power. The dragon Shou-Lao, housed in K’un-Lun, may also play a role as the heroes attempt to deliver a powerful tablet tied to the city’s history.
