Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 is scheduled to release in fall 2026, with Studio Trigger and Netflix confirming the launch window during Anime Expo 2026. The announcement also introduced a new key character, Talia Young, as the upcoming season prepares to tell a standalone story set in Night City.
Studio Trigger Reveals Talia Young
During Anime Expo 2026, Studio Trigger shared a new promotional visual for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 and revealed Talia Young, the fourth major character confirmed for the sequel.
According to the official description, Talia comes from Night City’s corporate towers but chooses chrome and violence over a traditional corporate life. She joins previously revealed characters Wick Kingsley, Dee, and Roman Karax as part of the new cast leading the next chapter of the anime.
Season 2 Tells a New Night City Story
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 will consist of 10 episodes and feature a completely original storyline within the Cyberpunk 2077 universe.
Rather than continuing David Martinez’s story from the first season, the sequel follows a new group of characters caught in Night City’s brutal cycle of ambition, survival, revenge, and redemption. Kai Ikarashi is directing the new season, while Bartosz Sztybor returns as writer and producer.
First Trailer Arrives June 29
Studio Trigger also confirmed that the first full trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 will debut on June 29 alongside a dedicated presentation.
The showcase is expected to offer a closer look at the new cast, story direction, and animation from the upcoming season.
Edgerunners Returns After a Breakout First Season
CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger first released Cyberpunk: Edgerunners on Netflix in 2022. The anime became a major success and helped renew interest in Cyberpunk 2077 by drawing more players back into Night City.
With a new cast, a standalone plot, and a confirmed fall 2026 release window, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 is positioned as one of Netflix’s biggest upcoming anime returns.
