Crimson Desert has been a massive hit since its launch in March 2026, pulling in millions of players. The developer, Pearl Abyss, is dropping big updates, and the latest announcements reveal massive changes coming to the game.

The most exciting news right now is all about those Baby Wyverns players have been hatching. Right now, they just follow you around as pets, but Pearl Abyss confirmed these babies will grow up. In a future update, you can register them as full flying mounts. This is going to completely change how players explore the map, saving hours of travel time.

Players who want to fly as soon as the update drops need to start building Trust with their wyvern today. Petting your baby wyvern gives +25 Trust daily, and feeding it adds even more. Start grinding that Trust now so you are ready when the mount system goes live.

Boss Rematches and Re-blockading Change the Endgame

The April Dev Update confirmed that a Boss Rematch system is now in the game and will receive ongoing updates. You can now go back and fight any major boss you have already defeated. This is great for testing new builds, practicing combat strategies, or just flexing your power after leveling up.

The Re-blockading system is another major addition that keeps the open world active. Enemy forces will now attempt to reclaim locations you have already liberated. Patch 1.08 expanded these events to bandit camps and ruins, forcing players to actively defend their territory instead of just clearing a map marker and moving on.

Difficulty Settings and New Combat Options

Pearl Abyss listened to players struggling with the combat pacing. You can now choose between Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty modes. This lets casual players enjoy the story without hitting a wall, while hardcore players can crank it up for a serious challenge.

Combat variety also got a massive boost. Kliff can now use muskets and shotguns, giving him the same ranged firepower previously restricted to Damiane and Oongka. Damiane and Oongka did not get left behind either. They received new abilities similar to Kliff’s Force Palm and Axiom Force, plus Damiane got enhanced effects for two-handed cannons in patch 1.08.

Quality of Life Changes Are Saving Inventory Space

The inventory struggle is real, but relief is on the way. Pearl Abyss detailed a massive storage overhaul planned between April and June:

  • Food Storage lets you cook directly from stored ingredients.

  • The Wardrobe system organizes outfits and armor separate from regular slots.

  • Gatherables Storage holds your raw materials for crafting.

  • Collections Storage keeps quest items and recipes organized.

They also added a dedicated tool slot in patch 1.08, moving tools like axes and scythes off the weapon wheel. Plus, you can now build a fishing pond at your camp to breed fish safely, securing those rare legendary catches.
