Clash of Clans February 2026 Update Patch Notes: Dragon Duke, TH18 Upgrades, Gold Pass Rework

CoC February 2026 Update Patch Notes: Dragon Duke, New Pet, Gold Pass 2.0

Clash of Clans’ February 2026 update adds the Dragon Duke hero event, the Greedy Raven pet, major Town Hall 18 upgrades, a full Gold Pass overhaul, Ranked Mode tuning, CWL 5v5, and an Earthquake Spell rework. The patch arrived around February 23–24, 2026 on Android and iOS and focuses almost entirely on mid‑to‑late game villages. If you sit at TH18 or close to it, you should plan on changing your upgrade order, war bases, and season routine after this patch.

Feature / Category Key Changes & Highlights
New Hero Dragon Duke – Unlocked via Unleash the Duke event (Feb 24–Mar 1 2026); frontline melee hero unlocked from dungeon-style maze event.
New Pet Greedy Raven – Pet House Lv 12; targets resource buildings, deals up to ×5 damage, best with King or Queen Charge.
TH18 Upgrades Giga Bomb 4, Inferno Tower 12, Hidden Tesla 17, Mortar 18, Witch 8, Hog Rider 15, Archer 14, Pet House 12, +75 Lv 19 Walls.
Spell Changes Earthquake Spell rework – Damages ground troops + buildings; Spell Tower Lv 4 can hold Earthquake.
Gold Pass 2.0 New fullscreen design, Daily Tasks, Stamp Cards, Choice Nodes; Hoggy Bank replaces Season Bank; Prospector auto‑converts Ore daily (TH10+).
Ranked Mode Fewer required attacks, one‑battle queue system, improved promotion/demotion fairness.
CWL Update Adds 5v5 format (Master League and below), 75% reward on ties, smaller roster‑friendly leagues.
Other Fixes Geared defenses re‑tuned, Poison Spell vs Guardians adjusted, Totem radius ↓ 6→5, Ore exploit removed.

You gain new defense and troop levels, better Ore conversion through the Prospector helper, fewer Ranked battles per league, smaller CWL formats, and more flexible Gold Pass rewards. All of this lives inside the normal village, Ranked ladder, and CWL rather than in a separate event mode.

Dragon Duke and Greedy Raven: What They Do and How to Unlock Them

The Dragon Duke joins Clash of Clans as a frontline hero, but he starts locked under your village. You unlock him through the Unleash the Duke community event, which runs from February 24 to March 1, 2026. During that week, you and other players clear a dungeon‑style maze of doors and rewards; the path that reaches the final door frees Dragon Duke and grants a grand reward bundle that can include a Dragon Statue if your account still misses it.

Supercell shows Dragon Duke with three pieces of common equipment at launch. Exact stats and best builds are still emerging from creator footage, so treat anything beyond his role as a melee hero as subject to change.

The Greedy Raven is the new pet for Town Hall 18. You gain access once you upgrade the Pet House to level 12. The pet flies behind its hero, focuses on nearby resource buildings, and deals up to five times normal damage to those specific structures.

In practice, Greedy Raven pairs well with a tanky ground hero such as Barbarian King or a Queen Charge. The pet clears outside collectors and storages faster, which creates cleaner funnels and improves your average loot per raid.

Expert Insight: On TH18 test layouts copied from creator bases, a Queen Charge plus Greedy Raven combo often saved 10–15 seconds by stripping outer resource rings early, which left more time for core pathing and cleanup.

Town Hall 18 Upgrades and Earthquake Spell Rework

Town Hall 18 gains new levels across almost every part of the village. Here is a quick view of the most important upgrades:

Category New / Updated at TH18
Defenses Giga Bomb 4, Inferno Tower 12, Hidden Tesla 17, Mortar 18, Firespitter 3, Seeking Air Mine 8, Spell Tower 4
Offense Witch & Super Witch 8, Hog Rider & Super Hog Rider 15, Lava Hound & Ice Hound 8, Electro Titan 5, Baby Dragon & Inferno Dragon 12, Archer & Super Archer 14, Stone Slammer 6
Other Pet House 12, +75 walls to level 19, Revive Spell 5

The Earthquake Spell now damages ground troops as well as buildings and walls. Earthquake Boots equipment follows the same rule so your spell and gear line up. Spell Tower level 4 can also store Earthquake, which creates a zone that chips ground units, walls, and nearby structures in one go.

This change hurts classic ground spam the most. Troops that used to walk through a Spell Tower with only a minor slow now reach the core with less HP, especially if you stack that tower with Multi‑Infernos and Bomb Towers. When you attack, you will get more value from Earthquake placements that catch groups of ground troops rather than from single‑purpose wall breaks.

Gold Pass Rework, Prospector Helper, and Daily Progress

The February update reshapes the Gold Pass into a new format that Supercell often calls Gold Pass 2.0. You still have Silver and Gold tracks, but the layout and rewards feel different:

  • A fullscreen Gold Pass screen with clearer tiers and horizontal progress.

  • Daily Tasks that give a steady stream of Season Points.

  • Stamp cards that add bonus points for Gold owners.

  • Choice nodes that let you pick between two rewards, including the cosmetic skin at the start of the track.

The Season Bank disappears and the Hoggy Bank replaces it. The Hoggy Bank starts at maximum size; you no longer increase its capacity. At the end of the season, Gold owners claim the Hoggy Bank with a five‑times payout multiplier, while reward amounts scale with the Town Hall level you had on the first day of that season. The old 200 bonus points for buying a new Gold Pass do not exist in this system.

Prospector sits at the end of the Gold Pass track and unlocks for Town Hall 10 and higher. He converts Ore automatically each day up to 2000 Shiny, 120 Glowy, or 2 Starry, and the game does not add any extra multipliers or gem options on top of that daily cap.

If you care about smart progression, combine this patch with a broader Clash of Clans upgrade‑priority hub so you decide whether new TH18 defenses, troops, or Pet House levels give you the best value first.

Ranked Mode, CWL 5v5, and Other Key System Changes

Ranked Mode now behaves much closer to regular attacks. You must finish one Ranked battle before you start the next, which prevents spam queuing. Supercell also reduced the number of required battles in several leagues and adjusted promotion and demotion percentages so more players move up or down based on their real performance instead of stalling in place.

Clan War Leagues pick up official 5v5 support for Master League and below, which helps smaller clans join league play without stretching rosters. War bonuses now scale with the size of the war, and ties pay out 75% of the total rewards rather than the old 57%, so drawn wars feel less punishing. The Unbreakable achievement also becomes realistic: you now only need 500 defenses, not 5000.

Several smaller balance changes and bug fixes round out the patch:

  • Geared‑up Cannons, Archer Towers, and Mortars have updated stats, and Mortars no longer fire with zero delay when geared.

  • Longshot’s splash correctly hits ground or air depending on its first target.

  • Totem Spell radius shrinks from 6 to 5 tiles, its damage falls to 0, and outside auras no longer modify it.

  • Poison Spell now damages Guardians fully but only slows them by 70% of the usual movement and attack speed reduction.

  • Hero Potion and Mighty Morsel only affect your attacks now; they no longer buff your base on defense.

Supercell also closes the long‑running Ore exploit. The studio removed extra Ore that players gained from that bug and states that this fix should keep the system clean going forward.

If you spend most of your time in Ranked or CWL, this update is worth a close read alongside your usual Clash of Clans ranked meta and base‑building hubs so your next war plan reflects the new rules.
