A delightful side quest is up in Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Verso’s Drafts expansion! Collect all Pieces of Cake to open the mysterious Gingerbread door. The new whimsical area hides three cake pieces throughout its colorful attractions. Here’s how you can get all the piece of cake in Expedition 33 and create the Birthday Cake!

Finding the Gingerbread Cake Door

You may want to locate the Gingerbread Cake door itself first before starting to collect the cake pieces. Heading over to the Reverie Path expedition flag in Verso’s Drafts, you’ll notice a distinct entrance near it. Once you arrive at the flag, you’ll immediately notice a cake-themed door nearby.

However, do not interact with the one directly beside the flag which only serves as an exit point. Instead, move forward while staying on the left side of the path and continue until you find an interactive entrance. While speaking to this mysterious door, it will mention needing ingredients for a birthday party. Afterward, Verso will explain that the door wants cake which starts your side quest to collect all pieces.

Piece of Cake Location #1: The Carnival Attraction

Start your search by getting the piece of cake from Very Very Cool Gestral, a character bearing resemblance to Verso. He stands out dramatically from other Half-baked Gestrals in the area due to his Verso-styled hair and Esquie and Osquio-themed masks. To find this Gestral, here’s what you need to do:

1. 1. Go to the Candy Land expedition flag.
   2. Then, head down the nearby rope.
   3. Walk past the enemy you encounter through a pink passageway and reach a location featuring a spinning carnival ride.
   4. Talk to the Very Very Cool Gestral that provides free-pass tickets to the attractions.
   5. Make sure all your characters ride the attraction by taking their turn on the ride.

Completing this activity will give each party member a new Esquie outfit. Once everyone enjoyed the carnival ride, the Very Very Cool Gestral will hand you the first piece of cake for participating. 

Piece of Cake Location #2: The Lost Toy Boat Quest

Meanwhile, the second piece of cake will require you to help 3 Half-baked Gestrals to recover their missing Toy Boat. You can find these Gestrals at the north of the open Playground expedition flag in Verso’s Drafts. Here’s what to do after:

1. 1. From the Reverie Path expedition flag, look for Gestrals nearby in a pool.
   2. Head to the group playing with toy boats and speak with them. 
   3. They will request your assistance to locate their lost Toy Boat somewhere in the area. 
   4. Then, go to the waterfall where you can find the missing toy hidden under it.
   5. Retrieve it and return the toy boat to the 3 Half-baked Gestrals.

As a thank you, they will hand you the second piece of cake of your growing Birthday Cake collection. This should be easy by knowing where to find the waterfall area. 

Piece of Cake Location #3: The Glowing Statue Puzzle

While the first two pieces of cake were easily obtained, a significant challenge awaits you in the final piece. You have to solve a puzzle involving glowing Esquie statues to receive another piece of cake.

1. 1. Go to the area near the Gestral Baths Expedition flag.
   2. Find the Half-baked Lifeguard. 
   3. Locate where multiple glowing Esquie statues are by traveling east from Verso’s Drafts entrance.
   4. Then, interact with these statues in a specific sequence to solve the puzzle.
   5. Start with the statue on the right side.
   6. Following it, interact with the one on the left side.
   7. Interact with another statue under a waterfall behind the first two statues.
   8. It should complete the puzzle and turn 3 Esquie statues blue while the other three red. 

After solving the puzzle, return to Half-baked Lifeguard to get your rewards. It includes a haircut cosmetic for Monoco and finally, the third piece of cake. As soon as you receive the last piece, it will automatically combine in your inventory to form the Birthday Cake. 

Opening the Cake Door and Claiming Your Reward

Once you have the Birthday Cake in your possession, go back to the Gingerbread Cake door north of Gestral Baths expedition flag. Disregard the door’s cryptic message as you only need one Birthday Cake to unlock the entrance. After that, interact with the door and offer the Birthday Cake as your gift. You’ll get access to the area beyond where the said “most heartfelt present” awaits.
