Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Update Adds Nicolas Cage and New Zombies Map

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has launched its Season 04 Reloaded update, bringing Nicolas Cage into the game as a playable Operator alongside a new round-based Zombies map, fresh weapons, multiplayer additions, and balance changes. The mid-season refresh affects players across PC and consoles, with Zombies fans and Event Pass grinders getting most of the headline content.

Season 04 Reloaded Is Now Live

Season 04 Reloaded arrived on June 25, continuing the content rollout that began with Season 04 on June 4. As expected from a mid-season Call of Duty update, the patch adds new playable content while also adjusting weapons and attachments across the sandbox.

The update’s biggest additions are the Kowakujō Zombies map and the Nick Cage Event Pass. Players can also unlock new weapons, earn limited-time rewards, and take part in the new Summer of Action Daily Login Event.

Kowakujō Brings Zombies to a Feudal Japanese Castle

The new Zombies map, Kowakujō, sends players into a feudal Japanese castle set within the Dark Aether. Surrounded by volcanoes and fire, the map continues the mode’s ongoing story as the crew searches for the final Shadowsmith and the World Seed.

Kowakujō also introduces new enemy types, including Oni, Scorched Zombies, and Hellhounds. The Oni are supernatural enemies armed with kanabō war clubs, while Scorched Zombies and fire-covered Hellhounds add more pressure through flame-based attacks.

A new Wonder Weapon is also available on the map, though the official patch notes describe it as classified. Early player reports suggest the weapon may be a katana, but that detail has not been officially confirmed. Players can also find a bomb shaped like a maneki-neko, the Japanese lucky cat.

Nicolas Cage Joins Black Ops 7 as an Operator

Nicolas Cage is now available in Black Ops 7 through the Nick Cage Event Pass. Rather than adapting one of his film roles, the Operator presents Cage as himself, with the in-game model appearing noticeably younger than the actor’s current real-world age.

The Event Pass also includes the AN-94 Assault Rifle and the Executioner’s Duet melee weapon. Players have until July 23 to progress through the Nick Cage Event Pass and claim its rewards.

Multiplayer Gets New Maps and Modes

Season 04 Reloaded also expands Black Ops 7 multiplayer with new and returning content. Zenith introduces a cliffside compound with a hidden passage, while Launch, originally from the first Call of Duty: Black Ops, returns in remastered form.

The update also adds Team Blueprint Sharpshooter, a mode built around rotating Weapon Blueprints that force players to adapt throughout the match. Knife Fight offers a close-range alternative focused entirely on melee combat. Black Ops Classic is now a permanent mode, with four additional maps added to its rotation.

Weapon Balancing and Daily Login Rewards

The patch includes balance changes for several weapons and attachments, including the Maddox RFB, AK-27, Kogot-7, Warden 308, Grimhawk, and Voyak KT-3. These updates continue Treyarch’s usual mid-season tuning approach, refining the weapon meta while adding new content.

Season 04 Reloaded also kicks off the Summer of Action Daily Login Event across Black Ops 7 and Warzone. Rewards include Double XP Tokens, Pass Skips, and the Catharsis X9 Maverick Assault Rifle Weapon Blueprint.

With Nicolas Cage headlining the Event Pass and Kowakujō expanding the Zombies storyline, Season 04 Reloaded gives Black Ops 7 players a sizable mid-season update to work through. The new content is especially notable for Zombies players, while multiplayer fans still have fresh maps, modes, and balance changes to explore before the season wraps up.
