Breaking Down the Fortnite Lawless Season Trailer

The trailer for Fortnite Lawless Season has introduced a variety of new features, weapons, and locations. Several details may have been overlooked, so here is a breakdown of what was shown.

New Vehicles and Locations in Fortnite Lawless Season

A Mustang car is set to be introduced, adding a new dynamic to vehicular gameplay. Additionally, a bank POI has been revealed, marking the first time a dedicated financial location has appeared in the game. Another new location, the Gold Mine POI, promises unique gameplay elements.

An armored truck, previously teased in promotional materials, has been confirmed, with one of the Battle Pass skins seen driving it. The train will now feature turrets, which may impact combat interactions, though it remains on a fixed path. The inclusion of an armored carriage suggests an increased role for the train in this season’s mechanics.

Fortnite Lawless Weapons and Items: What to Expect

A new third-person AR or SMG is expected, resembling the Warforged AR but lacking attachments. This firearm has a short barrel, suggesting compact, fast-paced usage. A dual-wield weapon featuring a shotgun and an SMG has been introduced, with separate ammo counters for each gun. Players using controllers may fire the SMG with one trigger and the shotgun with the other, creating a unique combat experience.

Returning weapons include the Mammoth Pistol and the Sentinel Pump. A new double-barrel shotgun, held by Midas in the trailer, is expected to add another close-quarters combat option. An electric bat, likely a melee weapon, appears to have a charge-up mechanic, adding variety to melee combat.

Explosives and Vault Mechanics

The sticky grenade launcher, previously seen in Chapter 4, Season 4, is making a return. Known for its ability to attach to surfaces before detonating, it has been divisive among players. The melonite item, capable of melting through structures and exploding, has been revealed as the method for opening vaults this season. Unlike previous vault systems requiring key cards, players will need to use melonite to gain access.

A drill item, similar in function to the Rocket Ram, was briefly shown, hinting at potential mobility or destruction mechanics. The trailer also displayed multiple Big Dill Medallions inside a vault, suggesting they may play a significant role in this season’s objectives.

Snipers, Mythics, and Additional Features (Fortnite Lawless Season)

A new sniper rifle has been revealed, featuring a variable zoom function that allows for different levels of magnification. Subzero, likely the season’s main villain, is introduced with an ice-based Mythic ability, seemingly incorporating a slide mechanic. A spear, presumably a melee weapon, was also shown, aligning with Fortnite’s continued focus on hand-to-hand combat options.

Not every item showcased in the trailer will be available immediately. Historically, Fortnite trailers have included items that were only introduced later in the season. For example, the Chapter 5, Season 3 trailer prominently featured the Minigun, which was not added to the game until the final two weeks of the season.

With the inclusion of the Crime City POI, the Gold Mine POI, and a new mansion location, Fortnite Lawless Season is set to bring substantial updates to the game’s environment and loot pool. Returning and new weapons, expanded combat mechanics, and evolving locations are expected to shape the season’s progression.
