Legion Remix is currently in testing on the PTR, and feedback from players has been mixed. Many believe the mode feels less rewarding compared to Mists of Pandaria Remix. The introduction of a new phasing system has limited access to raids, rewards, and gear upgrades. Players expected a faster, more open experience, but instead, the event has layers of timegating.
This design choice conflicts with the original appeal of Remix modes, where players could immediately dive into high-power content. Without access to all rewards and raids at launch, the pacing feels slower, creating frustration for those who wanted an accelerated progression system.
Leveling Speed and Gear Power Issues
Another major concern is the leveling process. Reaching level 80 on the first character currently takes around 15 to 20 hours for most casual players, far longer than in retail World of Warcraft. Without additional XP buffs or faster quest rewards, progression feels slow.
On top of this, gear scaling has been adjusted. Unlike previous Remix events, characters earn fewer stats and can’t upgrade gear in the same way. Power gains feel limited, making it harder to solo content and reach the endgame strength many enjoyed in previous modes.
Blizzard’s Response to Player Feedback
Blizzard has acknowledged community concerns and confirmed changes are coming. In a recent statement, the developers announced that Legion Remix’s PTR phase will be extended, and updates will focus on improving speed, power, and overall fun.
Planned adjustments are expected to address leveling speed, gear upgrade paths, and possibly reduce timegating around key rewards and raids. While full details are still pending, Blizzard’s commitment to monitoring player feedback has reassured some of the community.
Missing Appearances and Rewards Debate
One ongoing point of contention involves exclusive appearances from the original Legion Mage Tower challenges. Players have requested recolored versions of these weapons for Legion Remix, similar to how Pandaria Remix introduced alternate mounts.
Blizzard has yet to confirm any changes to these cosmetics, maintaining their exclusivity. However, many players feel that adding new variants would incentivize participation without devaluing the original rewards. If left unaddressed, this could limit long-term interest in the event.
