Big Walk Purple Flag Pole Golf Puzzle Solution

The Purple Flag Pole golf puzzle in Big Walk doesn’t provide a ball at the flag because the flag is actually the end of the challenge. To solve it, you must retrieve the ball from the earlier mountainside golf puzzle, carry it across the island using the train, and carefully transport it through several hazardous sections before delivering it to the purple flag.

Where to Find the Purple Flag Pole Ball

There is no hidden ball around the Purple Flag Pole, so searching the immediate area won’t help.

Instead, return to the previous mountainside golf puzzle. The ball used there is also the one required for the Purple Flag Pole puzzle.

Once you’ve found it, pick it up and prepare for a lengthy trip. Unlike a typical Big Walk puzzle, getting the ball to its destination is the challenge.

The complete route is:

Mountainside Golf Puzzle → Red Tower station → train → Green Tower → Rope Bridge → mountain climb → drawbridge → Purple Flag Pole

You’ll need to physically transport the ball throughout the journey.

Step 1: Retrieve the Golf Ball

Head back to the mountainside location where you completed the earlier golf challenge and collect its ball.

From there, begin moving downhill toward the railway. Take the safer paths rather than attempting aggressive shortcuts. Dropping the ball down a slope can turn a short detour into significant backtracking.

Your first major destination is the train station near the Red Tower.

Step 2: Take the Ball to the Red Tower Station

Continue downhill while keeping the ball under control until you reach the station.

Avoid unnecessary jumping while carrying it. Big Walk’s physics can make transported objects unpredictable, particularly around slopes and ledges, and losing the ball here means you’ll need to track it down before continuing.

Once you reach the railway, take the ball aboard the train.

Step 3: Ride the Train to the Green Tower

Board the train with the golf ball and ride toward the Green Tower area.

When you arrive, make sure you retrieve the ball before leaving the railway. The rest of the journey takes place on foot and contains some of the most difficult sections of the puzzle.

From the Green Tower area, start heading toward the Rope Bridge.

Step 4: Carefully Cross the Rope Bridge

The Rope Bridge is one of the biggest opportunities to lose the ball.

Move slowly across it and stay as close to the center as possible. Avoid jumping, sudden movements, or anything else that could cause the ball to slip over the side.

The exit from the bridge is particularly dangerous. Don’t rush forward as soon as you reach solid ground; make sure the ball is secure before beginning the next climb.

Step 5: Climb Toward the Purple Flag

After crossing the Rope Bridge, continue up the mountain with the ball.

This portion of the route includes narrow terrain where a mistake can send the ball rolling downhill. Speed doesn’t offer much advantage here, so prioritize keeping control of the ball over reaching the destination quickly.

Eventually, you’ll encounter another major obstacle: the drawbridge.

Step 6: Get the Ball Across the Drawbridge

Treat the drawbridge as another high-risk section.

The combination of a moving mechanism, narrow surfaces, and the ball’s physics makes it easy to lose your progress. Move deliberately and avoid standing somewhere that could cause the ball to fall when the bridge changes position.

If you’re playing with friends, this is a good location to have another player waiting on the opposite side.

Once the ball is safely across, you’re close to the destination.

Step 7: Deliver the Ball to the Purple Flag Pole

Continue climbing until you reach the Purple Flag Pole.

Bring the golf ball to the required position at the flag to finish the puzzle. The challenge is primarily about transportation rather than taking a difficult golf shot, so reaching the flag with the correct ball is the important part.

How to Avoid Losing the Ball

There are three areas where extra caution can save considerable backtracking:

Location Main Risk
Rope Bridge Ball can fall from the sides
Rope Bridge exit Ball can roll away while transitioning onto land
Drawbridge Movement can send the ball over an edge

The safest rule throughout the entire route is simple: don’t jump while carrying the ball unless absolutely necessary.

Slow movement may make the trip take longer, but recovering a ball that has fallen down the mountain takes considerably more time.

Best Co-Op Strategy

The Purple Flag Pole puzzle becomes easier when multiple players coordinate the transportation.

Have one person serve as the primary ball carrier while another moves ahead to prepare for difficult terrain. Your teammate can wait at locations such as the Rope Bridge exit or drawbridge, where having someone positioned on the opposite side can prevent a mistake from becoming a lengthy recovery trip.

Passing responsibility for the ball between players can also be safer than having one person attempt every difficult section.

How Long Does the Purple Flag Pole Puzzle Take?

This is one of Big Walk’s longer transportation challenges. Depending on how smoothly the journey goes, it can take a substantial amount of time, and repeated drops can stretch a co-op attempt toward two hours.

The train journey itself isn’t the difficult part. Most of the time comes from carefully navigating bridges, climbs, and narrow paths while ensuring the ball doesn’t disappear down a slope.

Treat the challenge as a long-distance delivery puzzle rather than a conventional round of golf.

Don’t Confuse It With the Other Purple Golf Puzzle

Big Walk contains another golf-style challenge that can also be associated with a purple marker, but it follows a different route involving the chairlift and southern tunnel.

That is a separate puzzle.

For the Purple Flag Pole challenge covered here, the key is remembering that the ball does not spawn beside the purple flag. Retrieve it from the previous mountainside golf puzzle, bring it down to the Red Tower station, take the train toward the Green Tower, cross the Rope Bridge and drawbridge, then carry it through the final climb to the Purple Flag Pole to complete the puzzle.
