The Invisible Symbols puzzle in Big Walk is an optical co-op challenge near the Blue Tower. At first, the symbol boards inside the building appear completely blank, making it unclear how you’re supposed to arrange them.
The trick is a special lens inside the room. One player must look through it while another displays each board, revealing symbols that are otherwise invisible. After identifying all nine boards, you’ll need to match them with the sequence displayed outside.
Here’s the easiest way to complete the Big Walk Blue Tower Invisible Symbols puzzle without losing track of which board is which.
Where to Find the Invisible Symbols Puzzle
The Invisible Symbols, or Lens puzzle, is located southeast of the Blue Tower.
Look for a distinctive blue circular barn-like structure sitting on a hill among the trees. If you climb the Blue Tower first, you can use binoculars to spot the building and get a better idea of the direction you need to travel.
Once you reach the puzzle, you’ll notice several important features around the structure:
- Orange shapes inside the circular area
- A symbol panel on the exterior wall
- A wooden board where symbols can be placed
- Several apparently blank boards inside the building
- A special viewing lens inside
You’ll need at least two players to efficiently identify the invisible symbols.
How the Invisible Symbols Puzzle Works
The blank boards aren’t actually blank. Each contains a hidden symbol that becomes visible when viewed through the special lens.
One player needs to remain at the lens while another handles the boards.
The basic solution is:
Reveal all nine symbols → number their boards → check the exterior sequence → retrieve the matching boards → place them in order.
The most important part is organizing the boards after identifying them. If you randomly drop them around the room, you’ll quickly forget which hidden symbol belongs to which board.
Step 1: Have One Player Use the Lens
Enter the blue building and find the lens.
One player should position themselves so they can clearly see through it. This person will act as the spotter and identify the hidden symbol on each board.
The second player should start picking up the seemingly blank boards one at a time.
Step 2: Display Each Blank Board
With a board in hand, the second player should head onto the platform and hold it up so the player looking through the lens can inspect it.
Use the appropriate display controls:
PC: Q and E
Controller: LB/L1 and RB/R1
This works similarly to displaying information to teammates during Big Walk’s soundproof glass puzzle.
Although the board looks empty to the player carrying it, the person looking through the lens should be able to see its hidden symbol.
Repeat this process for every board.
Step 3: Number the Boards From 1 to 9
This is the step that makes the rest of the puzzle significantly easier.
After revealing each symbol, take the corresponding board outside and arrange all nine boards in a consistent numerical layout.
A convenient location is the triangular area underneath the gourd, where you can organize three boards around each corner.
Assign the boards numbers from 1 through 9 and make sure both players understand the layout.
For example, if the lens reveals that board #3 contains one symbol and board #7 contains another, you’ll later know exactly which physical board to retrieve when those symbols appear in the solution.
Don’t rely purely on memory. The numbering system prevents you from having to repeat the lens process if you forget which blank board contained a particular symbol.
Step 4: Close the Door and Check the Symbol Sequence
Once you’ve identified and organized all nine boards, both players should leave the building.
Close the door.
Doing so allows the exterior panel to display the sequence of symbols required to solve the puzzle.
Study these symbols and compare them with the ones you previously identified through the lens.
Because you’ve numbered the boards, you can translate the displayed sequence into board numbers.
For example, if the required symbols correspond to your boards #4, #8, and #2, you now know exactly which apparently blank boards need to be collected.
Step 5: Place the Correct Symbols on the Wooden Board
Retrieve the numbered boards corresponding to the symbols shown on the exterior panel.
Take them to the wooden solution board outside the structure and place them in the same order shown by the panel.
If you’ve matched every hidden symbol correctly, completing the sequence will solve the Invisible Symbols puzzle.
Easiest Strategy for the Lens Puzzle
The hardest part isn’t actually seeing the symbols—it’s keeping track of nine identical-looking boards afterward.
That’s why the most reliable method is to create a simple division of responsibilities:
Player 1: Stay at the lens and identify symbols.
Player 2: Display each board and organize it into the numbered layout.
Work through every board before worrying about the final sequence. Once all nine have been identified and numbered, leave the building, close the door, and check the required symbols.
Then it’s simply a matter of matching each symbol to its number and placing the corresponding boards onto the solution panel.
If you get the sequence wrong, recheck the numbered layout before starting over. In most cases, the mistake comes from mixing up two blank boards rather than misunderstanding the Big Walk Invisible Symbols puzzle itself.
