While exploring the island in Big Walk, you may discover a small stage featuring two enormous red speakers, colorful lawn chairs, and an AUX cable sitting on a table. The setup clearly looks like somewhere you can play music with your friends, but there’s one obvious problem: there’s nothing nearby to connect to the cable.
To get the Big Red Speakers working, you need to bring a portable radio from elsewhere on the island. Once you’ve found one, you can connect it to the AUX cable and turn the stage into a giant sound system.
Where to Find the Big Red Speakers in Big Walk
The Big Red Speakers are southwest of the Green Tower, close to the shoreline.
Look for a stage containing two large red speakers. There are several lawn chairs positioned in front of it, while a table between the speakers has an AUX cable that you can interact with.
Finding the stage itself is only half of the puzzle, however. There isn’t a radio nearby, so you’ll have to retrieve one before the speakers can play anything.
How to Turn On the Big Red Speakers
To activate the Big Red Speakers in Big Walk, you need a portable radio.
Portable radios can be collected from the seven radio stations located around the island. Visit one of these stations and pick up a radio before returning to the speaker stage.
The radio stations are worth discovering even if you aren’t immediately interested in the Big Red Speakers. Visiting them also gives your group access to additional music that can be played through the radio.
Once you have the device, the rest is straightforward:
- Pick up a portable radio from one of the radio stations.
- Carry the radio to the Big Red Speakers southwest of the Green Tower.
- Walk onto the stage while holding the radio.
- Approach the table between the speakers.
- Connect the radio to the AUX cable.
The speakers will immediately begin broadcasting whatever is currently playing on the radio.
The Big Red Speakers are significantly louder than the portable radio by itself, meaning the music can be heard from much farther away.
How to Change the Music
You can’t conveniently switch stations while the portable radio is connected to the Big Red Speakers.
Instead, disconnect the radio from the AUX cable, change its station, and then reconnect it. The Big Red Speakers will begin playing the newly selected music.
Discovering additional radio stations around the island gives you more tunes to choose from, so players interested in using the stage as a multiplayer hangout should explore all seven.
Do the Big Red Speakers Unlock Anything?
The Big Red Speakers are primarily a fun interactive feature rather than a major progression puzzle. You don’t need to activate them to advance through Big Walk’s main objectives.
They’re particularly entertaining in co-op, though. Once you’ve collected a portable radio and unlocked some additional music, your group can bring it to the stage, connect it to the speakers, and use the nearby lawn chairs as a place to hang out between puzzles.
The important part is remembering that the device you need isn’t located at the stage itself. Find one of the island’s radio stations, grab a portable radio, and bring it to the AUX cable to get the Big Red Speakers running.
