Big Walk doesn’t end when the credits first roll. After completing the main story and earning Big Goodbye, players can continue on the same save to finish additional puzzles, collect 15 required items, obtain a final key, and unlock Big Game for completely finishing the game. No second playthrough or alternate story route is required.
Big Goodbye vs. Big Game Explained
There are two important trophies tied to finishing Big Walk:
- Big Goodbye — Finish the main game.
- Big Game — Completely finish the game.
Big Goodbye represents the end of the primary story, while Big Game requires completing the additional content left on the island afterward.
The overall progression is:
Big Goodbye → post-game puzzles → 15 items → final key → Big Game
Most importantly, don’t create a new save after seeing the credits. You can continue your existing game and retain your progress.
How to Unlock Big Goodbye
Before worrying about the full ending, you’ll need to finish Big Walk’s main progression.
Continue through the island’s primary objectives until you can activate the sphere/core and begin the final sequence. Completing Wave Goodbye finishes the main story and awards the Big Goodbye trophy.
The credits aren’t the end of your save, however. Once they’re over, continue playing to begin cleaning up the remaining content required for full completion.
What to Do After the First Ending
Load back into the same world and continue exploring the island. Your next goal is to complete the puzzles that weren’t necessary for reaching Big Goodbye.
This includes a set of seven purple puzzles accessible beyond the purple tunnel. Each awards an item you’ll eventually need for the final key.
There are also remaining red items to collect, so completing the major towers alone isn’t enough to trigger the full ending.
Check the Map Room for Missing Puzzles
Before searching the entire island manually, visit the Map Room and inspect its 3D model.
Flags and other markers on the model can help identify areas where you still have unfinished content. An empty flag or incomplete marker is a good indication that you should revisit that part of the island and search for a puzzle you missed.
This makes the Map Room particularly useful during the post-game cleanup, when you may have already completed most of the island’s obvious objectives.
Complete All Seven Purple Puzzles
The purple tunnel leads to seven additional challenges required for Big Game. You’ll need to finish every one and collect the resulting seven purple items.
The challenges include several different puzzle styles:
| Puzzle | Basic Objective |
|---|---|
| Timer Puzzle | Finish the challenge before time expires |
| Golf Puzzle | Use the ball and environment to reach the target |
| Button Puzzle | Activate the required buttons correctly |
| Speaker Puzzle | Use audio clues to identify the solution |
| Posing Puzzle | Reproduce the requested pose |
| Obstacle Course | Complete the physical challenge |
| Symbol Sign Puzzle | Interpret the symbols and signs |
You can keep exploring if you’re stuck on one, but all seven purple items are ultimately required. Missing even a single one will prevent you from completing the next step.
Collect Eight Red Items
The purple rewards aren’t the only collectibles needed for the full ending.
You’ll also need eight red items that aren’t being used for the main tower progression. Combined with the seven purple rewards, this creates the complete set:
7 purple items + 8 red items = 15 items
If you’ve completed all seven post-game challenges but still can’t progress, check whether you’re missing one of these red items.
How to Get the Final Key
Once all 15 items are in your possession, return to the area near the Map Room.
Look for the green structure containing 15 slots. Place the seven purple and eight red items into their respective spaces.
Filling every slot completes the structure and provides the final key needed to access Big Walk’s last sequence.
There is no way to obtain this key early. If the structure remains incomplete, you’re still missing at least one required item somewhere on the island.
Where to Use the Final Key
After obtaining the key, return toward the starting/tutorial area.
The black sphere found there changes following the main ending and can now be used as part of the final progression. Bring the key to this location and use it to access the remaining sequence.
Some descriptions of this section refer to the final object differently, including as a sphere, ball, or room. Regardless of terminology, the progression remains the same:
Complete seven purple puzzles → collect eight red items → fill all 15 slots → obtain the final key → return to the post-game object
How to Unlock the Big Game Trophy
Use the final key and complete the sequence that follows. Once the last scene has played and the game recognizes your completion, you’ll earn Big Game.
Its trophy description is simply “Completely finish the game,” distinguishing it from Big Goodbye and its requirement to finish only the main adventure.
In other words, Big Game functions as Big Walk’s full-completion ending rather than an alternate story path. Everything can be done on your original save after the credits.
Why Big Game Isn’t Unlocking
If you’ve finished the story but haven’t received Big Game, there are several likely reasons.
You stopped after Big Goodbye: The first ending doesn’t count as complete game progression. Reload your existing save and continue exploring.
A purple puzzle is unfinished: All seven purple challenges must be completed, leaving you with seven purple items.
You’re missing a red item: The final structure also requires eight unused red items, bringing the total to 15.
You haven’t checked the Map Room: Inspect the island model for incomplete markers that could point toward content you’ve overlooked.
You’re looking for the final key too early: The key only becomes available after all 15 required items have been placed in the green structure.
Once you’ve earned Big Goodbye, cleared the seven purple puzzles, gathered the eight remaining red items, and filled the 15-slot structure, the path to Big Walk’s full ending is straightforward. Take the resulting key back to the changed object in the starting area and complete the final sequence to earn Big Game and fully finish the adventure.
