Fortnite’s newest update brings several interesting items that freshens up Zero Build gameplay, especially when it comes to mobility. Among the new additions, the sword, mask, and noodles stand out for their potential — but not all of them deliver the same results in real matches.
The Sword Feels Slower Than Expected
Many players expected the sword to rival past items such as the Typhoon Blade or Kneecapper Bat from Chapter 6 Seasons 1 and 2. However, it falls short. While it technically improves sprint and jump speed, the movement feels sluggish compared to those earlier weapons.
Even though there’s a stamina improvement, the animation feels clunky and less fluid. Enemies are also much easier to track while using it. It’s not great for closing distance or repositioning quickly, making it more of a melee weapon than a true movement tool.
Noodles Add Temporary Speed but Limited Safety
The noodles give a short burst of movement speed after being eaten, which helps in certain situations. Interestingly, when sprinting with the sword while under the noodle effect, stamina isn’t consumed.
Despite this synergy, the noodles don’t offer consistent or safe mobility. Players are exposed while running, and the speed gain doesn’t match what vehicles or Roly Polys can do for long-distance travel.
The Mask Is the Real Star of the Fortnite K-pop Demon Hunters Update
The mask easily ranks among the best movement tools in the game right now. Its teleportation feature works much like the Void Mask from Chapter 6 Season 1, allowing players to throw a ball and instantly teleport to it.
This gives precise control over landing spots — great for getting behind cover or reaching rooftops. It’s efficient, simple to use, and perfect for making creative plays. Pairing it with Shockwave Grenades can create strong combinations, using one for quick reaction and the other for strategic positioning.
The only drawback is predictability. If players teleport in obvious directions, enemies can track them. But with good timing and varied throws, the mask remains a powerful and flexible mobility option.

In Zero Build matches, the top-tier setup remains the Mask and Shockwave Grenades. Shockwaves excel for quick escapes and reactive movement, while the Mask helps with precise repositioning. The Hammer is another great pick since it regenerates charges, keeping movement consistent.
If choosing between them, double mobility is still the best choice — ideally Mask with Shockwave Grenades, or Hammer with Shockwave Grenades. The sword, despite its style, doesn’t provide enough speed or safety to compete.
