The newly released Bendy: Lone Wolf trailer does not feature much fresh gameplay footage, but it introduces a fascinating real-world framing device involving a wooden Boris figurine. This version of Boris appears on a planning map, likely outlining his route through the inky halls of the studio. A gloved hand gestures to different points on the map, with props that appear more grounded and realistic than those seen in the cycle. The soup cans shown here are fully colored and non-inky, indicating that this sequence may take place outside the cycle.
Speculation around the gloved figure’s identity includes Bendy and even Boris himself. Since the entire layout is centered on Boris’s journey, it’s most plausible that Boris is the one organizing the plan. Still, the possibility remains that a mysterious figure in the real world could be controlling events from outside.
Bendybot Returns and Wilson’s Altered Cycle
The trailer reveals a new antagonist: Bendybot. Originally designed by Bertrum Piedmont for Bendy Land in Bendy and the Ink Machine Chapter 4, Bendybot never saw much action—until now. His jump scare animation strongly resembles that of Robot Boris, suggesting he’s a legitimate threat. This addition ties into the broader lore. Lone Wolf is set during Wilson’s modified cycle from Bendy and the Dark Revival, a timeline where the Ink Demon is suppressed and the story is no longer constantly reset.

The more devilish version of the Ink Demon seen in the trailer supports this timeline, as do events like the potential Lost Harbor uprising. Boris’s map even shows a river, hinting at a return to that ominous location. With these new threats and settings, Lone Wolf deepens the evolution of the Bendy universe under Wilson’s rule.
Classic Characters: Sammy, the Projectionist, and Possible Cameos
Familiar characters return in full force. Sammy Lawrence appears seated, calmly playing a banjo—mirroring his prison state in Dark Revival. Since both games occur in the same altered timeline, it’s possible Boris encounters him in the Gent Workshop. In fact, a Dark Revival Easter egg already hinted at Boris’s presence in the workshop vents. We may see Boris aid imprisoned characters like Sammy, Henry Stein, or Alice Angel. Locations like Artist’s Rest and Bendy Lane also reappear.
The Projectionist hasn’t shown up in trailers yet, but his lair is visible, making his return as an enemy highly probable. Other teased returns include Alice Angel and possibly Allison Angel, continuing the franchise’s tradition of reusing—and repurposing—iconic figures from its past.
Gameplay Mechanics: Elevators, Weapons, and Exploration
Gameplay in Bendy: Lone Wolf closely follows the formula of Boris and the Dark Survival, with a few upgrades. Players can expect to search lockers, toilets, and now radios to find music. Weapon crates—likely those marked Gent boxes—grant Boris access to tools like plungers, hammers, baseball bats, and a frying pan, which appears to be the default weapon. Elevators are a major mechanic, possibly requiring battery refills or fuse replacements to progress between levels.
These fuses may tie back to Wally’s minigame from Dark Survival or serve new puzzle functions. Screenshots also show partially open lockers that may hide collectibles. Between combat, exploration, and crafting-like mechanics, Lone Wolf looks to offer more variety and depth than its predecessor.
