Black Desert Online’s Korea server received a major update on May 20, 2026, and the event rewards attached to it are stacking up to numbers that have the community paying close attention. Pearl Abyss officially confirmed three separate event categories running simultaneously, each with its own Cron Stone payout. When you combine them, the total confirmed Cron Stone ceiling across these named events lands at 10,400.

This is tied to the game’s direct service 7th anniversary, known as the 530 celebration. Korea is the primary region where these events are confirmed active right now. Whether the full slate reaches global regions on the same schedule is not confirmed by Pearl Abyss outside of Korea yet, so treat the numbers below as the confirmed KR figures until your regional service makes an official announcement.

Here is every confirmed payout, what you have to do to get it, and what the May 20 patch actually changed on the gameplay side.
How 10,400 Cron Stones Break Down Across the Three Live Events
Pearl Abyss confirmed three separate Cron Stone sources that are all live or scheduled in the current KR event window.
Cron Stone Blessing Challenge: 2,100 Cron Stones
This is a seven-day login event. Log in each day and receive 300 Cron Stones per day. Complete all seven days and the total payout is 2,100 Cron Stones. The only requirement is logging in.
530 Guild Boss Event: 3,000 Cron Stones
Pearl Abyss confirmed that defeating guild bosses with guild members rewards you with guild boss event boxes. The boxes drop 300 Cron Stones each. You can complete this once per family per week per boss, up to five bosses per week. That caps out at 1,500 Cron Stones per week, and the event runs for two weeks, making the confirmed total 3,000 Cron Stones if you clear every boss both weeks.
Distortion Event Deep-Energy Stone: Up to 5,300 Cron Stones
This one works differently. While grinding in hunting zones during the Distortion event, there is a chance for a special deep-energy stone to appear. Pearl Abyss states that the moment it is discovered, all adventurers on the server receive 530 Cron Stones. This can happen up to 10 times, making the confirmed maximum payout 5,300 Cron Stones. Drop rate is improved by your item drop rate buff, similar to how the previous Distortion wave worked.
The 5,300 figure is a server-wide reward cap, not a per-player grind milestone. The faster active servers fill their grind zones, the faster this resolves.
Distortion Chapter 2 Support Rewards: What You Can Actually Claim
Beyond the Cron Stones, Pearl Abyss confirmed that Distortion Chapter 2 brings new exchange items into the seal shop.
If you have been collecting seals from Chapter 1, here is what is newly available in Chapter 2 according to the official KR event overview:
-
One additional Rare Hammer Selection Box
-
Two more Ultimate Premium Enhancement Boxes (confirmed minimum 1,500 Cron Stones each at the lowest roll)
-
Five adventure support boxes
-
One Breath, Strength, and Health exchange voucher (tradeable between characters)
-
One maid contract reward
-
One skill change ticket selection box (for horses)
-
Ten perfumes
Pearl Abyss also introduced a new collectible box tied to this event wave. Opening it gives one Butterfly box (noted in community coverage as generally low value), plus Dreamer Seals. Five Dreamer Seals are included, which does not complete a full Dreamer exchange on its own but contributes toward one.
Chapter 3 is confirmed to be coming based on the official schedule overview, though Pearl Abyss has not published its exact start date as of this writing.
Every Class Change in the May 20 KR Patch
Pearl Abyss confirmed class balance changes as part of the May 20 update. Based on the official KR patch coverage and the video breakdown, here is what was adjusted.
Awakening Maehwa Gets Defensive Buffs and a New Red Moon
Awakening Maehwa received multiple changes in this patch. Pearl Abyss added two new iframes to the kit. Slip gains an iframe and now has a three-second cooldown. Stigma gains an iframe as well. There is also a stamina increase.
The standout change is a new Awakening-specific Red Moon skill. This version of Red Moon is a full super armor and multi-CC ability. It chains into a stiffen into float combo. Whether Awakening Maehwa can still use both the original Red Moon and the new one simultaneously had not been officially confirmed at the time of this writing. Community testing on the Global Lab version was still ongoing.
Kunoichi Gets Nerfed on Damage
Kunoichi received adjustments to several abilities in Succession. Pearl Abyss confirmed damage reductions on Dance Macabre, covering both the normal attack and the Ninjutsu Release version. The reduction is approximately 14 to 15 percent.
Kunoichi’s Shadow Clone (SC) is receiving a full super armor conversion, which is an improvement, but the damage adjustments on the high-impact abilities are the main change players are reacting to.
Shai Succession and Guardian Succession Both Get Strong Upgrades
Shai Succession receives a large damage buff plus more HP recovery and additional super armor on key abilities. Down Smash and Air Smash were removed from specific skills as part of the rework.
Guardian Succession’s PA ability received a notable defensive and debuff upgrade. The ability now provides 50 percent damage reduction during use. The bigger change is that the evasion reduction previously attached to the ability has been replaced with minus 20 AP debuff in an area around the caster. In PvP modes like Arena of Solare, a flat AP debuff in AoE range is a high-value tool for team compositions.
Quint and Muraka Finally Worth Killing
One of the more welcome system changes in this patch is the Quint and Muraka world boss rework. Pearl Abyss confirmed that both bosses are being converted to standard world boss format.
That means they now follow normal reward tables comparable to other world bosses. You no longer need cannons to engage them. Players who currently kill Nouver have a reason to add these two to their rotation now.
Barter Got Better for Everyone, Including New Players
Pearl Abyss adjusted the barter progression system. Key confirmed changes:
-
Players now start with three barter routes unlocked immediately instead of unlocking them one by one
-
The 12th barter route now unlocks at 10,000 barters instead of the previous 20,000
-
New materials are being added to Tier 1 barter, including hard leather and soft leather, which are commonly gathered for treasure piece progress
-
Several older materials (elephant, deer, rhino, and pigskin, and soft parrot feathers) are being removed
-
Most material quantities are being reduced, nearly cut in half
If you have been stockpiling leathers for treasure gathering, those mats are now relevant to barter as well. The quantity reductions are something to watch if you are deep into ocean content.
Grind UI Now Shows Monster Species Types
Pearl Abyss confirmed a player-requested quality-of-life update for the grinding UI. The monster zone drop table now displays species type directly in the in-game UI. Previously, players had to check third-party databases to confirm whether a zone counted as demihuman, human, or another type for species-specific grind item bonuses.
Species icons for mobs are also being updated to better distinguish between chemi mobs and regular animal-type mobs, reducing the visual confusion that was common in mixed-mob zones.
Arena of Solare Gets a Teammate Tracker on Screen
Pearl Abyss added an ally location display function to Arena of Solare. Players can now see their teammates’ positions on screen without looking at the minimap. The icon changes when a teammate is CC’d, giving you a visual cue to rotate without relying on voice callouts.
For five-player coordination in ranked Solare, this is a meaningful quality-of-life improvement, especially at brackets where communication is inconsistent.
Pearl Shop: Best Confirmed Value Right Now
The May 20 KR Pearl Shop update includes the following confirmed offers.
90-Day Buff Packages (Recommended if you have coupons):
-
90-day Value Pack: 40% off, 612 pearls in KR
-
90-day Secret Book of Old Moon: 40% off, 900 pearls in KR
-
90-day Blessing of Kamasylve: 40% off, 900 pearls in KR
If you have a percentage coupon stacked from the Appreciation Pack purchase, the 90-day buff bundles are where that discount makes the most practical difference for active players.
Adventure Appreciation Packages:
Pearl Abyss confirmed packages at 70% off and 65% off tiers. These have generally been considered weak value on their own. Their main use case is generating a coupon for a larger follow-up purchase like the outfit packs or the 90-day buffs.
Premium Costume Packages:
A 25-outfit selection pack is confirmed at 65% off. Stacking a 30% coupon from an Appreciation Package on this brings the effective price down meaningfully for collectors.
53 Pearl Anniversary Bundles:
Items available at 53 pearls each as part of the 530 anniversary. Exact items in this tier include mount skill change tickets, dazzling engraving stones, inventory expansion slots, and warehouse expansion slots.
The butterfly boxes included in some event rewards are confirmed by community analysis as low-value items. The official event listings include them, but they are not the reason to engage with this event wave.
What to Focus On Right Now
If you are playing BDO right now during this event window, the priority order for maximizing value is simple.
Start with the seven-day Cron Stone Blessing login challenge immediately. You get 2,100 Cron Stones just by logging in daily and that window is already running.
If you are in an active guild, coordinate guild boss runs this week and next week. Each completed week of guild boss clears adds up to 1,500 Cron Stones. Across two weeks that is the full 3,000.
For the Distortion Stone payout, your grinding drop rate matters. Using drop rate items while grinding in active hunting zones improves your chance of triggering the deep-energy stone spawn. The 5,300 server-wide Cron Stones will distribute faster on populated servers.
Distortion Chapter 2 seals are worth collecting for the Rare Hammer and the Ultimate Premium Enhancement Boxes at minimum. The 10 confirmed perfumes are also solid, especially if you are doing active enhancement sessions during this event.
On the class side, Awakening Maehwa players should get on the Global Lab or wait for the live patch to test whether the new Red Moon can stack with the original before committing to a full build change. Guardian Succession players in Solare should start practicing the updated PA ability timing now, since the AP debuff makes it a priority skill in team play.
Chapter 3 of the Distortion event is coming. Pearl Abyss confirmed the chapter structure in the official KR schedule, so there are more seal rewards on the way before this anniversary window closes.
