Ubisoft has announced the first major post-launch update for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Resynced, with the patch scheduled to go live on July 16. The update aims to address several issues reported by players since launch, including the 30 FPS frame rate cap during PC cutscenes, alongside a variety of bug fixes and performance improvements.
The patch arrives just one week after the game’s release, as Ubisoft works to resolve technical problems that have affected the overall experience.
PC Performance Takes Priority
The biggest change in the July 16 update is the removal of the frame rate limit that affects cinematic sequences on PC. While gameplay can run at higher frame rates, cutscenes have remained locked to 30 FPS, creating a noticeable shift in visual smoothness.
Alongside the cutscene fix, Ubisoft says the update will also include:
- Stability improvements to reduce crashes
- Fixes for animation and visual issues
- Gameplay progression bug fixes
- General performance optimizations
The developer added that it is continuing to investigate additional known issues and plans to address them in future updates.
Full Patch Notes Will Be Released on July 15
Ubisoft will publish the complete patch notes on July 15, one day before the update becomes available.
According to the studio, this release is focused entirely on technical improvements and does not introduce new gameplay content. Ubisoft also confirmed it will continue monitoring community feedback following launch and release additional updates as needed.
