Apex Legends gear up for the biggest update in Season 28: Breach, marking the beginning of Year 7 for Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale. It will launch on February 10, 2026, introducing game-changing mechanics in how players approach combat. Check what to expect in Apex Legends Season 28 with this guide.

Hardlight Mesh Transform Gameplay

The highlight of the upcoming Season 28 update is the Hardlight Meshes. These are breakable windows and skylights that add new strategic challenges to Apex Legends. You’ll notice these surfaces throughout World’s Edge, Broken Moon, and E-District after the update.

Moreover, the Hardlight Meshes function as transparent barriers which players can see through but cannot shoot or pass through unless destroyed. To break these meshes, you have to use explosives, shotguns, sniper rifles and melee attacks to deal damage. The standard Hardlight Mesh has 200 hit points which is equivalent to eliminating an opponent at match start.

However, take note that Controller Legends can reinforce these meshes and boost their durability. Overall, they can accumulate up to a massive 1,250 hit points and change their color from blue to purple. Also, these Hardlight adds exploitable weaknesses to difficult-to-assault buildings like Broken Moon’s tube-shaped Lunar structures.

Fuse Receives Explosive Upgrade with Rocket Jump Ability

Part of the upcoming Season 28 is the major rework on Fuse which transforms him into an entry specialist. His new Knuckle Jumper upgrade can now fire his Knuckle Cluster ability at the ground and use the explosion to propel himself skyward. On the other hand, his ultimate, the Motherlode, was reworked into a devastating artillery strike.

His new Pyro Techniques upgrade adds fire damage to The Motherlode explosives. Meanwhile, Reignition lets him recharge his ultimate through explosion damage. These changes make Fuse’s kit more suitable for breaching Hardlight-protected positions.

Bloodhound and Catalyst Get Powerful Buffs

Apart from the additions and rework, Respawn is bringing back Bloodhound’s most terrifying form in-game. These beasts received enhanced tracking abilities and devastating ultimate extension for every enemy knocked. So skilled hunters can chain eliminations to maintain their enhanced state indefinitely.

Meanwhile, they also extend the new Raven’s Flight upgrade to White Raven’s range. The Taste of Blood upgrade will add healing on knockdown during the ultimate to make Bloodhound a relentless force. Alongside, Catalyst received improvements on her versatility and zone control.

Her Piercing Spikes will travel further and trigger faster in the upcoming patch. They will also improve damage output for her Sole Piercer and Hidden Spikes. Notably, the Dark Veil can now be used horizontally to transform her to one of the best Controllers for sealing chokepoints.

Ranked Changes, Weapon Updates, and Anniversary Rewards

Beyond the character buffs, Season 28 will bring major quality-of-life improvements for better gameplay experience. They removed the Drop Zone from ranked play lists following the community feedback. In addition, XP caps and support one to five human squads are no longer available for Bot Royale.

Instead, Shotgun hop-ups seek return for the Mastiff, EVA-8 Auto, and Peacekeeper. However, the Marksman weapons received nerfs with reduced fire-rate and firepower. They also moved the G7 Scout to the Care Package for balanced loot.

Aside from this, there are several major loot pool adjustments including removing Knockdown Shields for floor loot. Due to this, they now scale with legend level automatically. Also the white backpacks come equipped at match start and were removed from the loot pool completely.

Definitely, there’s plenty of reasons to anticipate for the upcoming Apex Legends Season 28. From new arriving contents to major reworks, Respawn worked hard to provide an update that you’ll enjoy. As this also marks the seven years of Apex Legends, you can also get free anniversary rewards from February 10 to March 10, 2026.

You can earn four legends, legendary skins, Mythic Peacekeeper drops, Reactive Weapon Packs, and Heirloom Shard. Also, the Premium Battle Pass will feature legendary skins of Seer and Octane, alongside EVA-9 legendary weapon skin, Reactive Bocek skin, and many more!

Conclusion

The upcoming contents for Apex Legends Season 28 on February 10, 2026 are overflowing. This patch includes new gameplay mechanics, improved kit for Fuse and Catalyst, and 7th Year anniversary rewards! So, you shouldn’t miss this out once it arrives on all platforms very soon.
