And we say thank god, July, for bringing the highly anticipated second season of this popular anime adaptation, Tower of God! After its four-year hiatus, the anime finally premiered again with some familiar faces and, especially, intriguing new characters. With the world and story expanding in the new season, what would these characters offer? Let’s have a look at these fresh faces joining the cast in Tower of God Season 2!
Ja Wangnan
With Yuma Uchida’s voice, Ja Wangnan is one of the prominent new characters for the season. First introduced during the premiere of Tower of God season 2, we learned a few things about this new character in the show. Talk about luck, Wangnan lacks it as he regularly attempts to pass the test on the 20th floor of the tower. Despite failing, he remains persistent in his goal of climbing higher. Although Wangnan is quick on his feet, he is lacking in raw power. His perseverance and resourcefulness make him an endearing underdog protagonist for this new arc.
Kang Horyang
Brought to life by Kenichirou Matsuda, Kang Horyang is another new Regular introduced in the second episode. While not much is known about him yet, his character design depicts him as a large, imposing figure. This suggests he may possess significant physical strength, in contrast to Wangnan.
Hon Akraptor
Hon Akraptor, using the voice of Kento Shiraishi, is among the group of Regulars attempting the test alongside Wangnan. Like many of the new characters, his abilities and backstory remain mysterious in the early episodes.
Yeo Goseng
Yeo Goseng, brought to life by Yu Shimamura, is one of the female Regulars introduced in the second episode. Her role and capabilities are yet to be fully revealed.
Yeo Miseng
Another new female character is Yeo Miseng who is voiced by Saki Miyashita. Interestingly, Miseng appears to be quite young – one of two child characters that have surprisingly made it this far up the tower. Her presence raises questions about what special abilities or circumstances have allowed her to reach the 20th floor at such a young age.
Mule Love
Joining the cast in episode 2 is Mule Love! Her voice actor, Ayumu Murase, is known for roles from Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun as Iruma Suzuki. Love’s character design and role have been revealed, but details about his personality and abilities remain to be seen.
Rapdevil
Another late addition to the episode 2 cast is Rapdevil. The voice may seem familiar to you, as Ryo Sugisaki also played Mori Yoshinari in Nobunaga Concerto. Like Mule Love, Rapdevil’s character design has been shown, but his part in the story is still unclear.
The Mysterious Stranger
While not exactly a “new” character, the powerful stranger who takes the test alongside Wangnan is a source of great intrigue. This character, whose identity is initially concealed, demonstrates immense power that far surpasses the other Regulars. Their presence immediately raises the stakes and adds tension to the test. As the second episode progresses, their identity is revealed to be connected to characters from the first season, though they appear and act quite differently now.
New Dynamics and Mysteries
The introduction of these new characters brings fresh dynamics to Tower of God’s second season. The shift in perspective from Season 1’s protagonist, Baam, to newcomers like Wangnan offers a different view of life in the tower. It shows the struggles of those chosen to climb, contrasting with Baam’s unique situation as an irregular.
The presence of young children like Miseng among the Regulars adds another layer of intrigue, hinting at hidden depths and untold stories. Meanwhile, the transformed returning character serves as a bridge between seasons, carrying the weight of past events while presenting new mysteries to unravel.
Conclusion
As Tower of God Season 2 progresses, these new characters are sure to develop and reveal hidden depths. Their interactions, conflicts, and growth will undoubtedly drive the story forward in exciting new directions. The fans can look forward to learning more about these new faces in the season and seeing how they’ll change things around the ever-expanding world of Tower of God. Nevertheless, there’s plenty of things in store for our new characters as they strive to climb on top of the mysterious tower!
