Mage Arena is the latest craze in the gaming community with its accessible and innovative gameplay mechanic. This PvP game with immersive magic combat relies on spell casting to achieve victory in matches. So, here are all nine available Mage Arena Spells and when to use them.

Starting Spells: Your Core Arsenal

Mage Arena lets you begin your journey with four essential spells, forming the foundation of your magical combat. These spells are instantly available and navigable through usage of number keys while holding the spellbook. These four include Fireball, Wormholes, Freeze, and Magic Missile.

Usually, the Fireball serves as your primary damage dealer, which launches a gravity-affected projectile. Upon impact, this projectile explodes, dealing 70 base damage minus distance penalties. Moreover, it has additional damage scaling per level with a burn effect lasting up to 10 seconds.

Fireball is incredibly devastating when hit at close range. Meanwhile, its projectile’s arcing trajectory lets you be creative with your shots and potentially pass through Wormholes. This spell, on one hand, stands as the ultimate mobility tool with a two-stage casting process.

Wormhole takes effect after players say “Worm” to place the entrance, then “Hole” to position the exit. However, you may not use this spell on bases and only have a 45-second cooldown. Yet, it remains effective for flanking and creating escape routes, even pairing it with surprise fireball attack.

Another spell available is Freeze, firing fast, straight projectile freezing players while dealing 15 base damage plus 5 per level. Beyond the damage potential, this spell can destroy enemy Wormholes and temporarily immobilize your opponents. With this, you’ll have the opportunity to create follow-up attacks.

Then you also have the Magic Missile, launching three homing projectiles to track your nearby enemies. It grants you 10 base damage plus 2 per level against enemies and persists for 5 seconds. This spell is excellent at pressuring enemies in open areas, forcing them out of their hiding positions.

Discoverable Spells: Advanced Arcane Arts

Besides these four immediate spells, five other spells are hidden throughout the arena. These are accessible only by finding Torn Pages in the arena itself. These are advanced incantations compared to the starting spells you have.

While using these advanced spells, you’ll need to hold the Torn Page when casting. Here are the advanced Mage Arena spells to take advantage of in the game:

For quick short-range teleportation, you may use the Blink to phase through walls and solid objects. This is excellent at both aggressive gap-closing and defensive escapes, making the timing crucial. Take note that it may be risky to take damage while blinking.

Meanwhile, the Dark Blast spell creates a piercing laser beam, traveling through all terrain and obstacles. It deals fixed damage of 8 points with a 1-second burn effect, perfect to hit enemies behind cover. Although its narrow hit box needs precise aim to unlock damage.

Among the nine spells, there is only one healing spell available, which is the Divine Light. It restores 50 HP to all allies within a 40-unit radius. However, it has a long cooldown that you’ll have to strategize when to use it. Ideally, it is best to cast during crucial team fights rather than minor skirmishes.

Then, the Thunderbolt spells cast lightning strikes from the sky to deal 50 base damage minus distance penalties. Compared to other spells, it is exclusive for outdoor use and hits multiple times depending on your level. Clearly, it has a devastating AoE effect when against grouped enemies.

Another attacking spell is the Wisp, which launches a homing light projectile against your nearest enemy. It delivers extended burn damage and functions like an enhanced Magic Missile with excellent harassment capabilities. Moreover, it imposes sustained pressure against your opponents.

Unlocking Methods: Farming Spell Pages

One of the reliable ways to acquire Torn Pages includes trading with Gnomes in the Gnome Forest. You’ll find it in the blue hexagon with green tree-like speckles on the map, containing four Gnomes. These Gnomes accept any item in exchange for random rewards to help you in-game.

However, not every trade will give you the sought-after Torn Page and have short cooldown periods between exchanges. Besides the Gnomes Forest, you may farm in high-risk, high-reward areas like Crypts, Forgotten Temples, Caves, and Crypts. While these may have powerful enemies, you’ll have higher chances of finding valuable loot.

It may include legendary equipment like Excalibur or even spell pages. Meanwhile, quick farming runs are doable within the island’s coastline where chests spawn frequently. You may find Spell Pages by harvesting glowing blue resource nodes scattered across the map.

Combat Strategies and Spell Combinations

After mastering these spells individually, you may start matching them together to create effective combinations. Some of the popular spell combinations are the Freeze + Fireball and Wormhole + Fireball. This allows you to create unexpected attack angles, surprising your enemies while playing defense.

For defensive play, they usually revolve around using Freeze to destroy Wormholes. It’ll cut through the escape route and any potential flanking effects. At most, they reserve the Divine Light for critical moments to potentially turn things around.

Conclusion

Spells are your way to secure the ultimate victory in this PvP magic-based combat game, Mage Arena. It’ll provide you with offensive spells such as Fireball and Dark Blast to eliminate your opponents and capture their flag. At the same time, you may use Wormhole and Divine Light for escape route and sustainability during matches. Basically, master the functions of these spells to be able to create perfect combinations.
