Ready to entangle in complex moral choices with the Twisted Tree quest in Assassin’s Creed (AC) Shadows. After completing this quest, you can earn valuable rewards and significant game advancement. Here are all the locations and rewards for Twisted Tree in AC Shadows.
How to Start “The Twisted Tree” Quest
This quest initially begins as part of the “Inside Help,” falling under The Fool on the Shinbakufu Objectives board. To start “The Twisted Tree” quest, head to Kiyomizudera Temple located in Southwest Yamashiro. There you’ll find Ujimasa, posing as a tour guide right at the southern entrance.
Talk with him about the Takahashi clan to unlock the quest chain. You won’t actually need to speak with Ujimasa to encounter the Takahashi family members in the world. They’ll be there regardless, however, following the quest helps provide context and tracking.
Finding All Takahashi Clan Members: Preparation
You can’t just dive into searching for the entire Takahashi Clan members. It’ll be best to strategize a plan and thoroughly prepare things first. Besides, you have to complete these side quests first to gather the information you need:
- “Help Needed” – Find merchant Yamana Kihei in central Kyoto, west of Nijo Palace besides an umbrella cart. He’ll provide you with crucial information regarding the family tree of Takahashi.
- “Guard Assignments” – Head to eastern Kyoto then Honnoji Temple east. Look for a guard close to a sake crate cart along the main road southeast of the Jesuit Residences. Deal with him in exchange for the note you need.
- “Family Drama” – Travel to the Imperial Palace north entrance in northeastern Kyoto. Eavesdrop on guards discussing a dropped note on the west side of the town around the baths.
- “Dropped Intel” – Go to central Kyoto, specifically in Nijo Palace’s moat southwest corner. Search a fan cart which is broken to pick up a paper or the Outburst Area Note behind a crying merchant.
- “Guard Duty” – Visit the bath or Furo of Kyoto located north of Kano Painting School which is in central Kyoto. You’ll see in the back room the New Patrol Route Note.
Who to Spare in the Takahashi Clan
Based on the gathered intel, you can spare members Takahashi Goro and Takahashi Ichi-Hime. These characters won’t seek revenge despite the death of their father, unlike the rest. To spare them, you just have to sheath your weapons when approaching them.
Then, choose the conversation option rather than the assassination. Accidentally killing them before the quest won’t change anything in the game. The rewards will remain the same as well as the quest outcome.
