Wondering how to get more kills in the Valorant ISO ultimate? Here are five simple rules to follow to increase the odds of winning duels.
Rule 1: Stay Quiet When You Ult
When using the ISO ultimate, many players make noise and create footsteps, revealing their position. Avoid making any noise after ulting—move silently, using shift to go left or right without making footsteps. This increases the odds of surprising opponents, as they won’t know where to expect you. The key is to maintain acceleration without alerting your opponent, ensuring a successful surprise attack.
Rule 2: Abuse the Walls and Peek from the Left
Once the opponent’s position is unknown, use the walls effectively. One favorite tactic involves peeking from the left side. Peeking from the left gives an advantage, especially for right-handed players, as flicking to the left feels more natural. By taking a position that requires flicking left, it becomes easier to control the aim. Going right works for left-handed players, but for right-handers, left-peeking provides a more efficient flick.
Rule 3: Wall Peeking for Information and Baiting
Combine the previous two rules with wall peeking. Mask the footsteps, move left, and peek through the wall for information and baits. The goal is to peek out from the wall without making footsteps, gather information, and then move back behind cover. If an opponent appears, shoot quickly during the moment of exposure and return to safety. This often causes the opponent to lose recoil control while firing, giving an advantage when re-engaging, as the opponent will have to reset their recoil.
Rule 4: Plan Before Using the Valorant ISO Ultimate
Before activating the ultimate, consider whether specific opponents have their ultimates available. If players like Jett, Raze, or Chamber have their ultimates, prepare to counter them. Rather than holding a fixed position, stay ready for fast rotation, as these opponents tend to push aggressively. The ISO ultimate counters abilities by turning off their utility, making it particularly effective against Raze’s explosives or Jett’s blades. For instance, after ulting Jett, she will lose her knives, leaving her with limited weapon options like a Classic or Stinger.
Rule 5: Adjust for Weapon Range
When using the ISO ultimate, always adjust based on the opponent’s weapon. If the opponent has a close-range weapon like a Judge, take steps backward to keep them at a distance. The maximum effective range is 27 meters, which provides an advantage over players with shotguns or SMGs. Keep an eye on what weapons the opponents use, and play to the advantage of having a better gun at longer ranges. Opponents with close-range weapons will often rush forward, so moving backward keeps them at bay while they expose themselves to easy shots.
When ulting, if it’s known that the opponent has a Judge, take quick steps back while observing whether they go left or right. Use the remaining walls to counter their movements effectively. If the opponent moves left, move right, maintaining cover while controlling the encounter.
Additional Tips
When ulting Chamber, remember that he cannot use his Headhunter or Tour de Force. If he only has a Classic or Shorty, these are easy 1v1 gunfights to win in the Valorant ISO ultimate.
Also, if a kill occurs before ulting, transfer the shield into the ultimate. This provides an additional shield advantage, allowing for extra protection, as it cancels one bullet. Keep in mind that both ISO and the opponent retain the same health from before the ultimate—if either had low shields, they will spawn in the ult with that health. Monitoring the opponent’s economy helps anticipate shield levels, enabling adjustments to the playstyle.
