5 Best Games Like Zenless Zone Zero

Hey! Not everyone will like Zenless Zone Zero, but HoYoverse fans should definitely enjoy it. And in case you like the game and its everyday stuff, you might like these other titles too! Whether you like anime games, those gacha mechanics, or just cool social experiences, we prepare you best games like Zenless Zone Zero.

The World Ends With You

Did You Know The World Ends With you? It’s this awesome game you play as Neku, this cranky teen who gets yanked to this weird shadowy version of Shibuya, Tokyo. He’s actually kinda dead, but not exactly. This game’s gotta be fought for ghosts (or something like that) to come back to life.

The best part is each week, Neku has a new opponent to fight. It’s like a forced buddy adventure, but way cooler. Neku is one big jerk in the beginning, but then he actually starts to care about people! Despite all the fighting it’s pretty heartwarming.

Plus, the gameplay is wild! You fight on both screens on the DS, and the music is this shitshow of J-Pop and hip hop that really gets you hyped up. The whole thing makes Shibuya look like a living, breathing character, sort of like that new Zenless Zone Zero game. You gotta check out The World Ends With You if You like that anime feel and cool city vibe. It will blow you away, promise!

Scarlet Nexus

Zenless Zone Zero and Scarlet Nexus both have that cool anime feel, but the apocalypse is in different stages! Zenless Zone Zero almost feels like things are about to explode, and Scarlet Nexus leads you straight into a world that’s already seen its fair share of wrath.

In Scarlet Nexus the populace is mostly confined to a giant city full of monsters to be defeated by special agents. It’s like Zenless Zone Zero where you can choose Wise or Belle but here you choose Kasane or Yuito. But the twist is they have different stories! They may be on similar paths, but they each have different crews and goals. You’ve got to play through twice really to see the whole thing. Luckily, the awesome animation and intense battles make it a fun ride even on the second go-around.

Project X Zone

Project X Zone is another wild portable game because it crosses over characters from three major companies: Sega, Bandai Namco, Capcom. It’s also the game to get if players ever wanted to see Street Fighter characters swapping wits with characters from the Tales series or the Sakura Wars series. Battles take place on large grid-based maps.

Partner characters join characters and once combat begins, players can enter combos and string assists together like in a fighting game. Adjacent heroes on the board can help out too. Like most tactical RPGs there is a great deal to learn and it is not a straightforward game to completely master. Great fan letters and tactical RPGs to boot, check out Project X Zone (and its sequel also on the 3DS).

Persona 4

Want a social game with RPG combats like Zenless Zone Zero? Then the Persona series is a gold mine! And then there’s Persona 4, which is also using TVs as a wild twist – which seems like the perfect fit. Trippy! In Persona 4 the characters actually wear these glasses and can literally jump into TVs to take on monsters hidden in dungeons – talk about trippy!

The main plot is a murder mystery that has you guessing. Long game, yet one of the more original turn based RPGs available. And the expanded edition was also made for the PS Vita – because some adventures are meant to be played on the go!

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Want something different but with great combat? The next FF7 remake is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which is also a good choice. It improves upon the original fighting mechanics and features cool team-up moves known as Synergies.

These powerful moves use up a meter, but there are also free combos you can chain together. Cloud can even toss Tifa into the air for some aerial pummeling! So many choices, the battles still hold interest after hours of playtime.

The world itself is another significant difference. In contrast to Zenless Zone Zero’s more restricted areas, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth offers a much larger open world. Nice change of pace in case you want more room to roam!

Conclusion

Finally, if you like Zenless Zone Zero’s anime style and fast-paced action, there are tons of other games to play! Whether You want a more in-depth tale like The World Ends with You, a post-apocalyptic tale With Scarlet Nexus, social connections and dungeon-crawling in Persona 4, or team-ups and open-world combat in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, there’s something there for everyone. So grab your controller, jump in and find your next favorite game!
